Growing concerns about identity theft and fraud have led the Illinois Department of Insurance to issue a public warning, just as the new health insurance exchanges enter their implementation phase.
Concern focuses on those charged with assisting Illinoisans with enrollment to the new health insurance exchanges, the so-called navigators.
Navigators will educate consumers about the health insurance Marketplace, answer health coverage-related questions, and facilitate consumers selection of affordable health coverage through the Marketplace, according to the navigator training manual.
This will give navigators access to individuals personally identifiable information: the information necessary for identity theft.
The Illinois Department of Insurance warns people about giving their personal information through unsolicited telephone calls of any kind, as well as to people pretending to be navigators.
We have been made aware that scams are possible, said Kimberly Parker, a Department of Insurance spokesperson. If someone is at your door, err on the side of caution.

THAT may be their true purpse..
Here's another example of the continued dumbing down of America...according to my own training manual. Now the elites call themselves "navigators." Wow, what a snow job.
I’ve been posting about this obvious risk for months... and that the government doesn’t seem to care.

Enough just on page 1 to say no way.
Wonder how much navigators get under the table if they pass all all the applicant’s info to the DNC?
Navigators = TSA
So let's get started with the easy signup process. I will need your name, email address, phone number, social security number, and, most importantly, bank account number. Please be assured that the information you provide will be strictly private before being shared with a plethora of law enforcement agencies, the IRS, the NSA, and DNC.
———Navigators = TSA-——
Navigators = semiliterate political hacks
The Navigators are the sociological equivalent of the IT flunkies that designed the Obamacare website. The primary qualification is medals earned during the political campaign
America has become the land of sub mediocre bureaucrats
TALKING POINTS---A West Virginia nonprofit has turned down a federal grant it received to help residents navigate new health insurance options under the Affordable Care Act after it received an inquiry from Attorney General Patrick Morrisey about how it would protect consumer information. Clarksburg-based West Virginia Parent Training Inc. did not respond to a letter it received from Morrisey directing it to answer 26 questions about the group's personnel and hiring practices, including employee background checks and employee monitoring programs, the Sunday Gazette-Mail (http://bit.ly/17M1QVe) reported. YOUR TURN--Contact your state AG---ask him/her to issue a letter of inquiry to groups receiving federal "Navigator" grants. The inquiry should center on questions WRT how the group intends to protect consumer data.
In particular, the questionnaire should ask if the tax-funded "Navigator" program intends to transfer personal/ financial/medical data of the insured to the local/county/national Democrat Party, relevant Unions, banks, investment companies, drug companies, insurance companies. Trial Lawyers' associations and whether "Navigators" have sub rosa contracts with these, and other groups, plan to profit, to provide significant info to enrich databases for pecuniary purposes.
The AG also needs to confirm (1) whether the "navigator" was ever convicted of a felony....... and....(2) whether the "navigator" can be bonded.
Most importantly demand that your AG enforce the requirement that "Navigators" must have a state insurance license (consists of a comprehensive test on all aspects of insurance and compels a background check).
The question that should be asked is “are punishments adequately severe to assure privacy is maintained and identities are not stolen.”
For ten counts life. More than 10 counts death
Real navigators will carry licenses provided by the Illinois Department of Insurance.
Chances these fools are licensed insurance agents ?
These are people who by and large are functionally incapable of doing much of anything in life except existing on taxpayer largess, political graft, handouts, and general thuggery.
There is no way I would give any of these pricks my personal information, much less the time of day. These same people are slated to be the new concentration camp guards over our lives by screwing with us through our personal health care, finances, and futures - all at the wishes and whims of their political masters.
I'm failing to see the difference between where we are headed and the old Soviet Union. Can anybody help me out on this? Am I missing something?
More likely licensed precinct captains
Agreed. Which is why every state should require these “navigators” to be licensed and bonded, with significant jail time (2 to 5 years for a first offense) for any such “navigators” who attempt to operate without a license.
Here in the Reno TV market, we are being bombarded with ads for ‘health care supplement’ companies that I don’t think even existed 6 months ago. I cannot even keep track of how many different ones there are.
In between this blitzkreig of ads to support Obama, etc, there is an ad from the state of Nevada telling me to NEVER give out my Social Security number to anyone I don’t know.
Since I don’t know these ‘Navigators’, I won’t be participating in the Obamacare screening & scamming.
These Navigators are being recruited & being paid $45 an hour & more. They are already deemed ‘experts’ in all the ads.
I have been a bookkeeper for over 40 years & while I know I am pretty darn good at what I do, I don’t call myself an expert & I don’t make even half of $45 an hour.
EXACTLY!!!!
