‘Navigators’ raise identity theft risk
Illinois News Network ^ | October 7, 2013 | JACKSON ADAMS

Growing concerns about identity theft and fraud have led the Illinois Department of Insurance to issue a public warning, just as the new health insurance exchanges enter their implementation phase.

Concern focuses on those charged with assisting Illinoisans with enrollment to the new health insurance exchanges, the so-called “navigators.”

Navigators will “educate consumers about the health insurance Marketplace, answer health coverage-related questions, and facilitate consumers’ selection of affordable health coverage through the Marketplace,” according to the navigator training manual.

This will give navigators access to individuals’ personally identifiable information: the information necessary for identity theft.

The Illinois Department of Insurance warns people about giving their personal information through “unsolicited telephone calls of any kind,” as well as to people pretending to be navigators.

“We have been made aware that scams are possible,” said Kimberly Parker, a Department of Insurance spokesperson. “If someone is at your door, err on the side of caution.”

The Feds are not even doing background checks on these new hires. I doubt they are even using E-Verify, like all employers are required to do!!!

Not bonded, either.

This system is rife for identity theft.

They are doing complete back ground checks
1. Did you assist with the last Obama campaign?
2. Do you have a relative on the local Democrat committee
3. Are you black or queer

These Navigators are being recruited & being paid $45 an hour & more. They are already deemed ‘experts’ in all the ads.
I have been a bookkeeper for over 40 years & while I know I am pretty darn good at what I do, I don’t call myself an expert & I don’t make even half of $45 an hour

Hmmmm, what's wrong with this picture?

Great graphic. I’ve seen that before, I think, but a long, long time ago. Am I hallucinating or is it from an oldish movie, Rod Serling or some other depressing ‘70’s series?

That’s why the states need to regulate this “occupation” themselves...because the feds surely aren’t going to do it.

Most know that the so-called “navigators” are just another for the federal government to funnel our money to acorn and seiu members. What a sham!

“I’m failing to see the difference between where we are headed and the old Soviet Union. Can anybody help me out on this? Am I missing something?”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Allow me to assist you please, I believe I can dispel your concerns. There definitely IS a difference. You see, Americans have always done everything in a bigger and more impressive way than the Russians, we are fully capable of developing a tyrannical form of oppression that will dwarf anything the Russians have ever attempted in the past. What Russian could ever have thought of closing down a privately owned, taxPAYING business because of a government shutdown? Do you see that their inventiveness lags far behind ours? You might say that when it comes to oppression WE will bury THEM! Now, does that make you feel better?

Ah, yes,... much better. It is good to know we are back on top of the rest of the world again!
