Thousands of protestors gathered at the National Mall on Tuesday to demand Congress, currently mired in a shutdown and default crisis, finally get around to passing immigration reform.
The rally, organized by a coalition of immigrant rights groups and labor unions, featured speeches from dozens of politicians. Among the speakers was Nancy Pelosi, who recently joined Democratic members in introducing a new comprehensive immigration bill modeled on the Senate’s already-passed proposal. Many attendees carried signs or chanted slogans encouraging the House to hold a vote on the bipartisan Senate bill, which would have provided an earned path to citizenship for some undocumented immigrants over a 13 year period.
Several members of Congress joined leaders of pro-reform groups in engaging in civil disobedience at the event, leading to their arrest. Democratic members Charles Rangel, Al Green, Jan Schakowsky, Luis Gutierrez, John Lewis, Raul Grijalva, Joe Crowley and Keith Ellison were removed in plastic cuffs after blocking a street as onlookers cheered “Si se puede!”(continued)

If this was a sane country, this would have been a sting operation and hundreds of thousands of cops and ICE agents would have swooped in and arrested these international criminals.

Clicked the linked article: no mention of the Mall being opened up specially for the illegal alien protesters, but still closed for real Americans.

I am sitting here conjuring up an image of a group of American “Naturalized Mexicans” leading a STAMPEDE on Mexico City with a group of American “Undocumented Mexicans” to DEMAND anything.
Would imagine the tanks would be rolling and Tianamen Square would be remembered as a training exercise.
Can also picture ANY official of the Mexican Government being a ‘key note speaker’ at such an event or even FORCING the hand of the Local PD to ‘arrest’ their members, giving them a photo op...The photo op would be upon their release from the Hospital while on the way to lock up.
An IRONIC picture would be the VETS and families— DENIED entrance to the MEMORIALS THEY PAID FOR and FOUGHT TO ALLOW THE ILLEGALS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PROTEST— going to the ‘assistance’ of the NPS to keep the illegals ‘off the mall’.
Five are reds of varying stripes; one is a Moslem wacko; one I’ve never heard of; and the last is a singer (sarc).

This should stick in everyone’s craw, that the park service has become politicized in the way that it has. This is open corruption, in your face corruption.
Congressman with any grit, with any sense of honor at all would be selectively de-funding those parts of the park service that have let themselves be used as the regime’s hired thugs.
If a fanatical group of Americans did this in Mexico City they would be in jail with no release date until their family paid ransom to the police.
