Obama again attacks Republicans: ‘I’m not budging (tells media to keep the heat on GOP)

And there are a whole bunch of members of Congress right now who privately will tell you, I know our positions are unreasonable, but we're scared that if we don't go along with the tea party agenda, or the -- some particularly extremist agenda, that we'll be challenged from the right. And the threats are very explicit. And so they toe the line. And that's part of why we've seen a breakdown of just normal routine business done here in Washington on behalf of the American people.

And all of you know it. I mean, I'm not telling you anything you don't know because it's very explicit. You report on it. A big chunk of the Republican Party right now is -- are in gerrymandered districts where there's no competition and those folks are much more worried about a tea party challenger than they are about a general election where they've got to complete against a Democrat or go after independent votes. He has abused executive-branch “rule making” rather than working with Congress to pass laws. He has ignored the letter of the law when it comes to religious liberty and work requirements for welfare.

President Obama has used executive orders to unilaterally change U.S. immigration laws. His administration has used waivers to change laws such as No Child Left Behind to compel states to adopt new policies.

In some of these instances, the president attempted to garner statutory authority, failed to do so and then acted in defiance of that. In other instances, he never bothered to find consensus and ignored Congress from the outset, usually contending that he simply had no choice. This is no way to govern, and it cripples the system of checks and balances that our Founding Fathers envisioned.....”

"President Barack Obama sustained an hour-long press conference today without a single question about his signature healthcare law and the glitches that continue to plague the insurance exchanges -- a point that frustrated several conservatives.

"Explain to me how in a dozen questions the second biggest story of the week, the healthcare.gov debacle, doesn’t even come up," Brendan Buck, the press secretary for House Speaker John Boehner, asked in an email to POLITICO.

"Questions from WH press corps are pathetic," Brit Hume, the Fox News analyst tweeted. "As of this moment, not a single tough or challenging inquiry."

The criticism invited some blowback form Democrats, including former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau, who tweeted, "Hey Republicans, maybe they'd ask about Obamacare if you didn't do such a great job pushing that shutdown for no discernible reason message.".......... I think Obama is banking on hysteria over the perceived notion of defaulting on debt causing Boehner to crumble like tissue paper. Obama’s lapdogs in the MSM are taking this idea that it will lead to an immediate repeat of the 1930s Depression all over again and running with it. So perhaps he is now banking on enough of the public believing it.

Hopefully conservatives, at the government and grassroots levels, can get the public to see that this was nonsense to begin with and then the Republicans can keep the spine they have had once the hysteria intensifies.

“The response,” Mitchell said, “that Kathleen Sebelius gave to Jon Stewart was, ‘If we got what we wanted, which was a single-payer plan, this wouldn’t be a problem.” (A single-payer health care system did come up in the Stewart interview, but Sebelius’s response to Stewart’s specific question was to say that “nothing that helps an individual get health insurance has been delayed at all.”)

Duffy went on to say that the President and officials in the administration should also be made to sign up under Obamacare. “They have their own gold-plated health care plan that they’re in,” Duffy said.

“So do you,” Mitchell asserted.

Duffy shot back: “No, I’m not. I’m in Obamacare. I’m in Obamacare, Andrea. All members of Congress are and my family.”

Mitchell said nothing.

At the end of the segment, Duffy gave a final dig at Mitchell: “I think the media should start doing its job.”

“Thanks for your advice,” Mitchell said.

The phony “default” has been demolished by many people and with very few words. Republicans need to blurt it out whether they are asked about it or not. That’s what the Dems do.

That was great to see, but we need much more of this. And the default hysteria needs to be dealt with - I have a strong feeling Boehner is not nearly strong enough and tough enough to deal with it on his own; especially next week when you know it is gonna get exponentially worse. More of the Republicans and conservatives need to be able and willing to address these issues head on.

I’m very upset to see PA reps banding like this...I posted below of Barletta...he did vote for CR and then turned around and said he’d be voting to defund obamacare...Just like Cruz said they would do!

I already tweeted him that by voting for CR he was voting for Obamacare.
