A mother in the Bryant School District in Arkansas -- a district using the controversial Common Core curriculum -- was surprised to learn her sixth-grade daughter was given a team assignment to revise the Bill of Rights, pruning two amendments from the Constitution while adding two others, Twitchy reported Monday, citing a report at the Digital Journal. The assignment made the assumption that the United States government has determined that the Bill of Rights is outdated and may not remain in its current form any longer. The children were to assume the persona of experts on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights in their aim to ensure that the pursuit of happiness remains guarded in the 21st century, despite the fact that the phrase "pursuit of happiness" exists in the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution. Twitchy also hoped that one of these "experts" would realize the Constitution isn't amended by a "special committee." Lela Spears, the girl's mother, told the Digital Journal her daughter has not received any training in civics or government. "After she brought it home and explained her assignment to me, it made me question exactly what she was being taught. Where I can see a class using critical thinking skills to modernize the words, as to help them better understand the Amendments, giving an assignment to remove two then add two with little explanation as to why is upsetting," she said. Spears also said her daughter had no clue why she was being tasked with amending the Constitution. According to the mother, her child was never told how the Constitution is amended, and told the Journal she didn't believe the word "amended" was ever used in the class. "I read through the handouts she was given (they do not use a

Common core is one of the reasons my teacher DIL quit her job and will be homeschooling our granddaughter. Baby is only just one year old and already DIL is planning her curriculum and gathering supplies. Needless to say, DH and I are very pleased AND relieved!
Very Darwinian..... and evidence that we are not an intelligent species,
merely a clever one.
This is a great opportunity to set things right. I personally think the founders were misguided when they enumerated the rights to have unlimited, tax-payer-funded abortion and special protection of homosexual rights. Sure, these rights were not heavily abused at first, but over time we have seen the start of a negative trend.
Do I need /s?
I wonder how the teachers would respond. Would they admit these rights are nowhere to be found? or would they scold the child for picking the sacrosanct “rights” of the left?
Darwinian? No, this is Darwinian:
Survival of the Unfit
Charles Darwins Theory of Evolution (often referred to as The Theory of Survival of the Fittest) describes the positive effects resulting from any pressure on an animal species that removes the least fit among the species and allows only the most fit of the species to reproduce. Most of us are well aware of this Survival of the Fittest theory, but few are aware that Darwin also makes mention of the negative effects resulting from unlimited reproduction of a species least fit when the weak, the lazy, and the stupid are left unchecked.
We like to think otherwise, but our species, Homo sapiens, isnt that long out of the trees and the same laws of nature that affect all of Gods creatures apply equally to us. If we were to observe any other species that had been allowed to reproduce without limitations, we would know immediately what the consequences will be.
Whenever the weak; lazy; and stupid of a species is allowed to reproduce unimpeded by predators that feed off the weak; lazy; and stupid, they soon outnumber the strong, productive, and intelligent. When the weak/lazy/stupid dominate the gene pool, the entire population becomes weak/ lazy/stupid, and then the population collapses.
In the past, when these collapses occurred within human populations, they have been referred to as a Malthusian Collapse. Thomas Malthus, a Nineteenth Century Economist, thought these collapses were caused simply because past civilizations had reached a point where human populations could no longer produce sufficient food supplies to feed themselves, but he never pinned down the exact reason for these food shortages.
We now think these collapses of past human civilizations have occurred whenever the unproductive weak/lazy/stupid greatly outnumber the strong/productive/intelligent of the population. In other words, the majority of the population becomes too lazy to perform the work necessary to provide for themselves and whats left of the strong/productive/intelligent refuses to continue to do it for them.
These collapses have occurred at frequent intervals throughout human history, and Western Civilization is, in my humble opinion, currently on the cusp of one of these collapses.
