There is one huge difference. I really believe that 243 years ago, the Boston Massacre was actually, accurately, and fully covered by the MEDIA of the day. It made ALL the papers, but TV and radio hadn’t been invented yet.
Does anyone think TODAY’s media would cover and spread the news here in 2013?
It would not be covered because the media would be busy covering Kim Kartrashcan’s announcement of her newest boyfriend.

Quit reading when he said, “old tactic of closing memorials and monuments” like this is something that has always been done in shut downs.... IT HAS NEVER BEEN DONE DURING ANY PREVIOUS SHUT DOWN. NEVER. NOT LIKE THIS TIME.

I could really be off base on this, but I don't see the Republicans being blamed for ANY of this petty, vindictive shit!!

This turd is stinking it up right from the desk of the WH...nowhere else..

Everyone should take a cone as a souveneir. How many cones do the oppressive marxist nobamaton park service stassi storm-troopers have? I'm sure their supply isn't unlimited.

No longer is there a Ranger Rick...Ranger Dick will always be their legacy...the parknazis.

Why should the Republicans be blamed for this? Of course it comes from the Oval Office and it’s all political. Remember there is an election in 2014 and that arrogant pos occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave wants to hand the victory to his fellow rats

What do you mean Fox News is not covering this? They were just talking about it on Fox and Friends.

When I say "covering" this I mean camera crews at Lake Meade interviewing elderly homeowners with the barrycades in the background and the armed guards not letting them into the homes THEY OWN. WWII vets being ushered in via the "back door" while illegal aliens have free reign of DC to have their rally. Fishermen in Florida being warned that their boats will be confiscated if they go fishing in certain areas - not drug running, not illegal alien trafficking, no, just fishing. Examine the cost to keep people out verses the cost just to leave things alone.

Picture after picture of armed guards, cones, and barrycades along the roads that happen to pass through our natural wonders. Go to the Pisgah Inn and ask the heavily armed guards that are keeping people out why they are denying a lawful private business access to their customers. Interview the hundreds of elderly tourists, from all over the world, who were given "permission" to conduct their motor coach tour of Yellowstone and yet were not allowed to "look" at anything and were held prisoners at the Old Faithful Inn by armed guards. There are tons of these examples.

This is the "optic" that needs spreading. Armed guards telling law abiding Americans "not to recreate". Ask why, when people are willing to volunteer or to simply pick up the costs of operation during the period, they are denied by the toddler in chief. This is big. None of these militaristic actions are necessary. This has to be thrown into the face of the toddler in chief.

Oh, yeah, let's also not forget that during all of this hoopla, the toddler in chief found half a BILLION dollars for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Bill Moyers is more important than veterans or the rest of us.

Of course he is, he is helping the toddler in chief spread his propaganda.

You seem to be at the wrong thread. I have read the article about 10 times word for word and nowhere does it say what you posted.
I agree with you however that this has never been done in previous government shut downs. Neither have commissaries at Military US bases been closed.

Especially those from the drive-by media

Last week, hundreds of people were seen walking on trails in Acadia National Park here in Maine, as well as riding bicycles.

Last Saturday, a woman fell on a mountain-side trail and cut her knee. A park ranger called Search and Rescue, and the woman received medical treatment. The rangers asked people to stay out of the park until after the shutdown, but there are many trails which start just off public roads and lead deep into Acadia, so many people continue to hike and bicycle in the park.

Yeah, but would the drive-by media even talk about this? I doubt it.

I will not be surprised when I hear a report of a Park Ranger being shot and killed.

I will not mourn.

This closing of the parks by the Department of the Interior should not be forgotten. These are federal officers who have been in effect ordered to take up arms against the American people.

They need to be notified of this fact. And many of them need to lose their jobs because of this fact.

The vast majority of western lands have been illegitimately taken by the federal government. To police these lands the Department of the Interior has hired an army. But if these lands are returned, much of this army can be dismissed.

And taking up arms against the American people is as good a reason to be fired as they come.

And they need to be notified of this fact. And many of them need to lose their jobs because of this fact.

Stepping over the tapes is wonderful, but will they regret voting for 0bama?

Why would you even THINK that this elderly couple voted for Zer0?
As a group, seniors voted AGAINST him....BOTH TIMES!!
