What if all the non essential government shut down and nobody noticed?
My American neighbor, from PA, left here, the Philippines, with his wife, for her first visit to the US.
His plan was to drive coast to coast, border to border, visiting the national parks. I am anxious to hear just how that is working out for them.
They have been gone just a few weeks, on a three month trip.
It appears to be open to everyone, so I sent an email stating that the shutdown had a profound effect on me.
It made me even prouder to be a Tea Partier, and may the shutdown continue into the New year!
Unlike the United States which has no budget because Democrat Progressives are not allowed to have the ability to continue unlimited borrowed spending, I have a budget and a prudent reserves, and reduce my spending as the reserves diminish.
Of course my president, the Great Uniter, and his "most transparent government" has exercised the power to confiscate with impunity, so my determination to plan ahead is vulnerable to arbitrary and capricious politicians.
If the non-essential Park Rangers had been furloughed, we would not have noticed. However they are paying EXTRA to shut down open monuments and Parks that require no manning, except to barricade them. I am indeed humiliated as a citizen that our government has come to this, to deny access — AT EXTRA COST — of our National Treasures, to citizens and foreign guests. As I said shame, SHAME, on the executive who ordered this travesty, and the Senators who make it possible.
I also have a relative making an around the world tour, also somewhere in the West. I was hoping to be a generous host. But do not know what he might be encountering, in attempting to see Our National Treasures and Heritage, on this once in a life time trip. Embarrassed, humiliated, and etc. God Bless your neighbors and my relatives! May they see the America we all love, and not Parks closed by armed guards. : (
It destroyed my opinion of the Park Service.
Thanks! How amazing that he will take emails from anyone about the pain of the shut down, while “shutting down” his normal constituent services. HA! THANKS!
That was very good. It seems to me that “shutting things down” in ways that cost money in these circumstances should be an impeachable offense...
I’m not sure, but I think it’s a she.
Sherrod Brown is an unusual name, but indeed a he. I tried to paste a picture, but he is a he. Maybe he can’t help the name his parents gave him. HA!
Certainly in direct contravention of the Act, and I do not know what other remedies might be open to the agrieved citizens. In the mean time, he acts with impunity.

Ping!
It has made me tremendously happy and I hope it stays shut down forever. Y'all may keep my Social Security checks; small price to pay to finally have a country back.
It’s actually his middle name. His first name is Cleveland.
HA! Another response he did not expect to receive on his special “shut down” stories email. But he asked . . .
He did not campaign on that name. Cleveland (the city) is the bane of Ohio. We would have not a Democrat Senator otherwise. Another humiliation and embarrassment.
No effect at all except, to make me happy. Keep it shut down.
