The Republican party has seen its favorability sink to 28 percent in this months Gallup poll, the lowest favorability rating measured for either party since the organization began polling on their approval in 1992.
The poll, conducted October 3 through October 6, finds that the GOP has dropped ten points in favorability from September. In addition, its viewed unfavorably by 62 percent of Americans. Independents also view the Democrats more favorably, 32 to 27 percent. However, self-identified Republicans are more than twice as likely to see their own party unfavorably (27 percent) than Democrats (13 percent).
Gallup says the results may be consistent with the widely circulated narrative that the Republican Party is internally splintered on how best to handle the budgetary negotiations.
Democrats have not been unscathed by the shutdown fight, either. Forty-nine percent of Americans have an unfavorable view of them and their favorability is down by four percentage points since last month.
Or we could start making things here.
Just saying.
We’ve been sending US jobs out of the country now for an entire generation.
BRING THEM BACK.
"They hate Republicans, but the sheeptards will always have their Beloved."
And why wouldn't the Democrat sheeple love Barry? He gives them what they want. His Department of "Justice" gets ruled against by the SCOTUS, and they simply say, "Guess what? We're not going to follow that law"... and the Dems roar with approval. Barry feels politically vulnerable on parts of his own Obamacare law... so he simply refuses to enforce it. He ignores the rule of law on DOMA, immigration, voter ID, etc.... and the left cheers him on.
There is no "Constitution" to the left; there is no rule of law. There is only the naked pursuit of power. Meanwhile, GOP-e members in the face of all of this are frightened of their own shadows.
“Everyone I know is pissed at the Regime and RATs in DC.”
That’s a fact. Go to nearly any news website, left or right, and obuma is getting pounded in the comments section.
This poll is propaganda.
To properly analyze and report on that information would require two things sorely lacking in the media; intelligence and honesty.
As the Republicans align with conservatives they will see their approval numbers increase.
Bingo!
"Nobody said trying to do the right thing would be popular."
Yep. Scott Walker faced severe criticism in his battle against the public sector unions in WI; Reagan faced it in his fight against the Soviet Union (and squishy members of his own party). The adult-babies on the left will always throw their tantrums. In the end, we have to have faith and we must persevere.
You are exactly right!
“As the Republicans align with conservatives they will see their approval numbers increase.”
If they do, more like.
We all remember how the Klintstones obtained over 900 raw FBI files, and the Obuttpork regime is even more lawless than they were.
IMO, neither the stupid party nor the evil party will allow a candidate to win unless they have enough dirt on him to keep him in line.
That policy of only running dirty individuals has backfired on the stupid party, though, now that the unscrupulous evil party also has dirt on stupid party officials.
I think the RINOs are afraid to stand against the evil party because the evil party has videos of them sodomizing little boys, or something similarly loathsome.
As far as winning, what matters about winning is what happens on the ground not in the media. This isn't a popularity contest; what matters is what gets passed and what doesn't. Winning isn't even determined in the next elections. Some of these use piles of wet cardboard that claim membership in the Republican party should have been around long enough to understand that winning is something determined in the long run, not some short run poll. Winning is determined by whether the next generation or their children still have any liberty left.
Well, you see, the LIV understand that the GOP is offering a “dirty bill”, while all the humble Dems want is a “clean bill”.
Those evil nasty conservatives and their “DIRTY” bills.
I blame john mccain.
These polls do not sort out the people like me who does not approve of the Republican party but will never vote for a democrat. In all likelihood I will vote GOP.
This poll was conducted in a 10 block areas in NYC and San Francisco. 14,329 Democrats, 27 Republicans, and 6 Independent voters were included.
Well, see, the Republicans are handing out free stuff paid for by the taxpayers, right along with the Democrats. But publicly, they pretend to be conservative. So, they don't even get the "credit" for the ways they're selling out the country. The Dems do. So, what are they left with? No principles AND no political benefit for their treason.
This is one of the thousand reasons they are known as "the stupid party."
I’d rate them low, too. They’re doing a lousy job of telling the public what’s going on. There should be a bill in the hands of the Senate right now appropriating the money for making all necessary payments on Treasury bonds and the rest of the public debt. The GOP leadership should be going on all the news shows, talk shows, late night shows and telling people all about it. Examples of the bills passed in previous years that Democratic Congresses have killed should be publicized. They’ve got a golden opportunity here and they’re completely blowing it.
Rove predicting that Romney would win according to his polls. Polls are useless in predicting anything.
Well, a lot there. Certainly these "approval/non approval" polls are useless, or perhaps worse, 180 degrees misleading. As for Romney winning, he probably would now, because reality has uncovered Obama. The shame is that the Rove Romney GOPe campaign was too frightened and over consulted, and they refused to uncover Obama or even attempt to do so.
These Gestapo tactics have uncovered the man - who SHAZAM - is not just "a nice guy who is wrong" on policy. Mitt didn't have the cajones to say so.
The Republicans that see the GOP unfavorably now are those who see them as not having Conservative principles and capitilating to the democrats.
