Canadian provincial health officials last year fired the parent company of CGI Federal, the prime contractor for the problem-plagued Obamacare health exchange websites, the Washington Examiner has learned.

CGI Federal’s parent company, Montreal-based CGI Group, was officially terminated in September 2012 by an Ontario government health agency after the firm missed three years of deadlines and failed to deliver the province’s flagship online medical registry.

The online registry was supposed to be up and running by June 2011.

Officials at the U.S. government's Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services awarded six technology contracts worth $87 million to CGI Federal for Obamacare website work, according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office.

$87 million for a website that doesn’t work. Heck I’ll do that for $40 million.

CGI group is also the IT firm behind the infamous (and failed) Canadian long gun registry. One of the reasons cited was "unnecessarily difficult and confusing questionaires". Sound familiar?

Keep in mind that a large portion of that $87 million probably made it's way back to dim coffers and the wallets of the fat cats, so make sure you factor that overhead into your bid.

No vetting process for federal contracts?
It does not sound like the lowest bidder to me.
Besides, what are we doing letting a foreign firm collect private data on millions of Americans?
We have plenty of companies in the country who are capable of setting up and operate large databases.

Frankly I'm a little surprised the contract didn't go to Google, after all our Prez is so hip, cool, connected and "with it", you know. /s

Obamacare is working just as intended: create a debacle that can be exploited to cause overwhelming demand for Canadian style fully socialized healthcare.

Never let a good crisis go to waste.

“Besides, what are we doing letting a foreign firm collect private data on millions of Americans?”

Because that Firm has the Canadian single payer code sitting in the can. They did the Obungacare code on the cheap, meant to fail. When the Commies roll out single payer “BOOM” ready to roll.

That is the story I’m sticking to, LOL

Missing from the story:

Who in the Obama administration got the kickback from sourcing the ObamaCare contract with this firm?

There are many first class USA companies that could have done the job and done it correctly.
So what was the impetus to give the contract to a non-USA firm with a track record of failure?

Until very recently, that would have been S.O.P. for Quebec contractors doing government work.
