Canadian provincial health officials last year fired the parent company of CGI Federal, the prime contractor for the problem-plagued Obamacare health exchange websites, the Washington Examiner has learned.
CGI Federals parent company, Montreal-based CGI Group, was officially terminated in September 2012 by an Ontario government health agency after the firm missed three years of deadlines and failed to deliver the provinces flagship online medical registry.
The online registry was supposed to be up and running by June 2011.
Officials at the U.S. government's Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services awarded six technology contracts worth $87 million to CGI Federal for Obamacare website work, according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office.
The CMS officials refused to say if federal officials knew of its parent companys IT failure in Canada when awarding the six contracts.
CGI Federal built Obamacares Healthcare.gov, which went live Oct. 1 but has since experienced multiple technical problems, including crashes, refusal to load and sign-on, or to provide accurate information.

The good news is the computer systems are the SIMPLEST part of the obamaCAIR legislation. Everything else is far more complex.
I’m not sure why you put in (Ontario, no less) both because the firm is out of MONTREAL and because when it comes to incompetence and corruption, Quebec has Ontario beat hollow.
afraid you are right
I guarantee it was owned by a crony or a favored group.
That’s not even a question with this bunch.
We need to answer the left when they accuse those who oppose Obama as being racist.
We don’t oppose Obama because we’re racist,
we oppose Obama because HE IS.
They have since moved to the states and started a green energy corporation. No, not that I know of; but with Obama in office they may have if they thought about it.
What's worse is that they they didn't make the jump. This is going to make "Jaws" look like Disney before it is over.
I can see why he made the point, because the company was involved in a massive ($1b) boondoggle here, and the current government is the most corrupt in our province’s history- the latest scandal was about how they blew at least $1.1 billion to help two members get elected.
Follow the money trail. I bet it stinks to high heaven.
UGH! YEP! Caught that AFTER I posted, and yes, was also mistaking Ontario for Quebec! thanks for catching those. Screwed that part up all the way around.

bump
So far. Watch them spend another $500 mil tying to fix it.
The same cronies who had a hand in building obama’s campaign bus.
Really (about the bus)? Interesting, if true.
This is a much bigger deal... or mis-deal.
It’s true.
