Sen McCain: Sorry About That Whole “Wacko Birds” Deal, Guys:Apologizes Calling Tea Party "Wackos"
Daily Caller ^ | October 10, 2013 | Jim Treacher

Posted on 10/10/2013 8:14:21 PM PDT by lbryce

Sen. John McCain said Thursday that he’s worried about the Republican Party’s future and the infighting that is dividing it, calling efforts by conservatives to unseat incumbent Republican lawmakers “wrong.”

The famously wry McCain, R-Ariz., said he regretted calling the Tea Party wing of the Republican Senate conference “wacko birds” during budget negotiations, saying he’s learned to “never get personal” in political disputes…

“I do worry about the Republican Party,” he said at the Hero Summit hosted by The Daily Beast. “It’s the first time I have ever seen Republican senators running ads, raising money that is being used to attack incumbent Republican senators.”

Noting that Republican Sen. Pat Roberts of Kansas recently drew a challenger from the Right, McCain asked, “Where has Pat Roberts offended anybody?”

Since when was a seat in Congress a lifetime appointment? Since when is inoffensiveness a reason to vote for somebody? Since when is John McCain in charge of who should and shouldn’t run for public office?

But don’t worry about the “wacko birds” thing, senator. When you said that, we all just considered the source. And then we shook our heads that we were ever forced by circumstances to vote for him.

As Barry Soetoro would say, he’s (McCain) just your typical white person.

Where is there a law written that states that it is wrong to UNSEAT republicans who aren’t doing their jobs with republicans who will work for the people, Mr.McCain?
That is part of the problem.
Senators think they should be able to hold on to their seats regardless.
Pure sense of entitlement horse manure.....
Bottom line: Democrats and Rhinos are terrified of the Tea Party because it threatens “business as usual” bull$hit favored by a smelly, STAGNANT pool of incumbents.

I wish the media including FOX would break down these anti-Republican polls just a bit. They might find that half of those voting against them are tea party folks really tired of RINO’s like McCain. Too bad that the media uses the poll results without asking why they are voting against incumbents, especially the GOP.

The difference might be that most are against the Chicago political creep in charge of the country and the hard core leftists like Reid and Polosi than the GOP. It won’t be long before the younger generation wakes up and realize the’ve been snookered - again by the left.

He is getting pummeled on facebook and probably emails and phone calls. At some point in time, even John McCain has to think...ooops.

An apology does nothing to remove the fact that you are a traitor to conservatives and a collaborator with the Democrats AND THE NORTH VIET NAMESE, Senator McCain.

Mister McCain's apology does not seem like he disagrees with what he said; rather, that he was sorry that what he believes was quoted.

How very rinoish.

While I respect Mister McCain's military service, and consider that fraction of his life heroic, his unprincipled collaboration with the dark side and his desperate need for heavy petting from the NYT have turned his senatorial tenure into the very model of betrayal of trust.

To be fair to McCain, I think he suffered tremendous psychological damage when he was tortured, and he probably sang as many times as he kept his mouth shut, just to survive.

It seems to be a pattern.

The exact quote is "never speak ill of a fellow Republican".

Now, if you might think it's a difference without a distinction, you'd be wrong because to Senator Rino, who calls himself a Republican, but is merely an emasculated Republican otherwise known as Rino masquerading as a Republican, would be just another Republican but not a fellow Republican

I wonder if they realize how predictable they are. Their actions are so incredibly obvious that you can just listen to them for a minute and say to yourself “Election time must be coming.”
