Why no outpouring from our civil libertarians about the shooting death of Miriam Carey?">

WASHINGTON — I am just wondering whether Miriam Carey, the mentally ill mother who drove her black Infiniti down Pennsylvania Avenue after she rammed a White House barricade, was read her Miranda rights before she was shot dead in a fusillade of gunfire by a gang of well-armed police who surrounded her car at the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue. The information has not been released, though as I write almost a week has passed since the lethal event. Why could not those crack shots have aimed at her car’s tires? Then they could have waited for her next move. It looks to me like they were shooting at the side of the car about halfway up the door. They apparently wanted to take no chances.

Thus far there has been an astonishing silence surrounding the death Miss Carey. None of the usual complainants against police violence have been heard from—not the Rev. Jesse Jackson nor the Rev. Al Sharpton. Not even the NAACP or the ACLU. Nor for that matter have the hordes of defenders of Trayvon Martin been heard from. The only voices of protest have come from the Washington Times editorial board and from two writers at The American Spectator—now there are three.

Frankly I find this explanation preposterous. We are a nation of laws. We extend the rule of law even to the criminal class.

We certainly do to the everlasting detriment of the law abiding class. The more law we have the more people are drawn into the felony class. The end to God given Constitutionally enumerated rights. It’s here and has been going on since long before Ruby Ridge and Waco and if you don’t get it, you to could end up being Carey’d no pun intended. I used to rail against dynamic entry by the duly authorized thugs, now it’s graduated to dynamic death anywhere anytime.

Our giving police agencies too much agency because WE couldn’t be bothered, the agencies have graduated to the domestic enemies of today.

I have been wondering the same thing.
Lots of ammunition was expended on ONE side, none on the other. But apparently the ruling class ‘thinks’ it was a good shoot. So, all that is left is to give the "Hero of the Republic" medals to the cops in a very public ceremony, covered by all the ‘news’ channels at the capital and move on.
Another 10 years or so and our military and cops will be the same and their chests will have so many medals on them they will look like the old USSR military/cops.

If this had been a white or white Hispanic in the car then it would have been wall to wall coverage of their racist background.

I agree.....I am heartbroken that nobody seems to care about callous murder of this poor woman???
I watched the video over and over and she was not trying run over anyone, she was trying to get away....she was obviously very scared....and now we see she had good reason, because they pumped her full of so many holes, you would have thought she was Bonnie Parker!
It makes me sick that all those groups that usually stand up to this kind of brutality are silent. Were is the ACLU? Were is Jackson and Sharpton? Nowhere they are all pimps!
I hope the family sues the crap out of them and gets millions to help raise that poor little girl, that had her mother executed in front of her precious little eyes!!

Come on...what’s the big deal? So an unarmed mentally ill person with a child in the car was killed by several police shooting indiscriminately into her stopped vehicle???? That’ll show her.

.....I am a conservative and try to support the cops except when they are shooting dogs and 99 year old men. But, the damn guns they carry are not given to them by society to fire fusillades of bullets into an unarmed single mom while a 2 year old child cries for “mommy’ two feet away. It’s a miracle these guys did not kill the baby!

Here below (see link) is an article I commend to everyone. This is surely what the Democratic Party, all by itself, is going to visit upon America in years to come. The law of unintended consequences is simply inviolable. I hope all read this article. It is totally factual and historical and illuminates without the normal complexities where we are surely headed. Incidents like this for darn sure put the fire in the belly for people like me.

In regards to her condition/mindset, I thought I heard that she was on some sort of anti-depressant or other psycho-active "medication". Anyone know anything about that?

The use of psycho-active drugs is totally out of control, and it is amazing how often they are involved in these cases where people act completely irrationally.

I think the lesson learned from this is that when Rodney King was cruising at triple digits, high on drugs, and evading the cops - you know, using his car as a weapon - the cops should have just shot and killed him the first chance they got instead of just beating him into submission. That way it would never have been turned into the giant media circus replete with requisite rioting.

Our government has been infiltrated and taken over by Godless evildoers who are destroying America from within and the people along with it.

It’s like a silent war conducted behind the scenes on the people of America. The central socialist government must be shut down and all these criminals arrested.

Then turn to the State levels and arrest these rats too. Then on to the school systems and arrest all the teachers that are brainwashing our children with liberal propaganda, then arrest the Network Owners and all the news and media people who stand for this treason against the people of the United States of America and we can have public televised executions for all of them. Make a reality game show out of it, and eradicate them all.

Then, finally, revamp our courts system so that it makes sense. Drag five of those so-called justices of the SC out and turn them loose. Cancel all pensions for politicians and their staff, health care and any other perks that these weasels get....including those ex-presidents who still contaminate the national scene.
