I recall under Gov. Pete Wilson, AG Dan Lungren implemented a mandated registration for the SKS and with in two years that fire arm was outlawed and for those who followed the law and registered them, they had to turn them in.

Yep. So-called conservative Republican, Atty. Gen. Dan Lungren promised that he would never require gun owners to turn in their guns after requiring them to register them.

Low and behold, he was sued and then proved the old adage that registration leads to confiscation.

Before that, so-called conservative Republican Governor George Deukmejian signed the Roberti-Roos Assault Weapons Ban into law.

It was this law that millions of 'criminal' gun owners ignored.

It was at that point that I knew that no Republican could be trusted to protect our Constitutional rights.
