Brown would have loved to sign this bill but the real reason Gov. Brown vetoed it is because it would have immediately made a few million Kalifornicans criminal felons

The last time the state declared millions of legal gun owners criminals, the 'criminals' ignored the law's mandate to register or turn in their 'assault' weapons.

I recall under Gov. Pete Wilson, AG Dan Lungren implemented a mandated registration for the SKS and with in two years that fire arm was outlawed and for those who followed the law and registered them, they had to turn them in.
