The push for radical transgender rights in schools is trumping privacy rights at one Colorado high school.
A male student at Florence High School who claims to be a transgender has been harrassing girls in the bathroom. When parents complained, school officials said the boy's rights as a transgender trumped their daughters' privacy rights.
As the controversy grew, some students were threatened with being kicked off athletic teams or charged with hate crimes if they continued to voice concerns.
The Pacific Justice Institute sent the school a letter warning against squelching privacy rights.
"We're not going to stand by and let 99.7 percent of our students lose their privacy and free speech rights just because .3 percent of the population are gender-confused," the PJI wrote.
PJI is demanding assurances from the school that privacy and expressive rights will be protected and any accommodations will not involve the girls giving up access to most of their restrooms, as has previously been suggested by the school.

I remember when I was about 5 or 6, the woman who babysat us while my mother worked had a baby. I kept calling it a girl, and the mother kept correcting me that it was a boy. I have often wondered whether that child had a milder form of that disorder (now that I’m old enough to know about genetic disorders).
A poster above suggested that school policies should strictly be based on the presence of XX or XY chromosomes; my point is that even a genetic test is not absolute proof. A school district cannot have an absolute policy that XY will be treated as boys and XX as girls, when there is a small number of XY who are born as physiological girls. These individuals are not in the same category as “transgenders” who are clearly pretending to be someone of the opposite gender.
And whose side would all the parents who vote for the School Board take? And how high is too high a cost for doing what’s right?
That said, if done right, any actual physical contact would have to be initiated by the guy trying to shove his way into the girls bathroom. At that point, it becomes simple battery on his part, and a measured response is self-defense in the eyes of the law. So, the whole plan could be as simple as guys physically blocking the doorways EXCEPT to allow girls in and out. The other guy tries to go in; they simply do not move, or even acknowledge him. He tries to shove his way in, and he’s the bad guy for getting physical.
Now, after school, off-campus — he’d best have an armed security detail, and make a point to NEVER be alone.

School policy is not about exceptions, though, Mom. It’s about the broad spectrum.
If there are exceptions to policy that are extremely rare such as this, most schools would never encounter the need, and when they did there would be confidential consultations among administrators, medical experts, and families.
And, if I understood you correctly, this child would have been treated as female, accepted since childhood as female, and presented as female for her entire childhood. As you say, this would not be a male deciding to get a peek at the girls by claiming one week to be a female. In fact, if unknowing of her actual status, this child’s parents would be outraged at the fakes being allowed in the girls’ restrooms.
I never said that a person suffering from a genetic or mental disorder should be allowed to abuse others. Clearly, the boy in the article is claiming to be "transgendered" in order to gain unfettered access to girl-only areas. This is a clear kind of abuse that is predictable in this environment where every mental illness related to sexuality is something to be celebrated rather than treated.
However, there are a small number of people who have the XY chromosomes yet are physically female. They are not "transgenders"--they have a genetic disorder, and may not even know it. A policy that treats everyone as boys on the basis of XY chromosomes would be unfair and abusive to these individuals.

I have objections to blanket school policies, regardless of the subject of the policy. I have seen way too many children being suspended for idiotic reasons such as drawing a gun, or nibbling a Pop Tart into the shape of a gun. School administrators become so enamored of their absolutist policies that they fail to realize when their policies do more harm than good. Using common sense and judging the specific situation don’t seem to happen in these “all or nothing” environments.
There is absolutely no reason to allow a boy into a girl’s locker room, no matter how much he insists that he is “transgender.” An absolute policy forbidding anyone who is genetically XY from entering the girl’s locker room would be just as bad.
You did understand me correctly; someone with this disorder would likely not learn that she is genetically male until she is in her teens or older.

The male student as reported, is possibly guilty of:
Bullying - HA!! but modern bullying campaigns are only about one thing - creating new gays
Assault - one can't touch, hit or often even speak without being charged with battery of some sort
Sexual assault - yes, same sex assault does occur, and not just inside prisons, and penetration does not need to occur.
And a few more that I just don't have the imagination of a lawyer to consider.
