I don’t think that is it. It seems credit or debit cards at stores were doing some kind of work in their systems. They keep updating the systems making everything stupid.

There was a planned outage in FL sometime last month but people were warned ahead of time, AFAIK.

This is something different (”power outage at Xerox”) and it has affected states across the country.

Although I usually pay by credit card, this is why I always keep enough cash on me to pay for stuff if my card stops working.
