In elementary school I worked as a dishwasher during lunch to get a meal. Bet that never comes back.

I think he misunderestimates the folks not on the coasts or big city areas.

I worked as a server at the School of the Sacred Heart. I was 11.

The next year I got a full time job taking a little girl to school. I got up at 6 and took the bus. Made her breakfast and walked her to our school. We went home for lunch and her mom always had soup and sandwich prepared for us.

I gave the whole of the $10 to my mother.

In the meantime, My bro and I also had a pot holder business, a worm business, a golf ball business and a newspaper route. What a wonderful life!!

True story. Over the summer, our local park was handing out lunch boxes to anyone under 18 yrs.

Advice to young food stampers. Get yourself a good push mower. Heck, anything else that you can earn an occasional dollar with. Earn being the operational word. That is how most young boys and girls helped to feed themselves and their families in my day. The values given to us by our families and our communities did not encourage or permit thievery as a source of income.

Bearden should ask her husband for more money to feed his child.

Where’s the child support?

Despite being a ‘single mom’, she does seem to be doing a few things right, including living with her mother and sister to help save money and maybe with child care and holding down a full-time job.

But especially in pooling resources for a four-person household, $180+ ought to be more than enough to feed a woman and small child—let alone provide only ‘supplemental nutritional assistance’.

Does anybody know if food stamps are reduced for families whose kids are in the school breakfast/lunch program or is double dipping permitted.

Sounds like me. I was responsibly baby sitting my baby and toddler nephews when I was in the sixth grade. I’ve got friends now who won’t leave a high school son alone for an evening.

And that potholder business, did it by chance involve a small loom with looped rag material?

“and then send them out upon us. All in a plan”.
That is the plan.

That is exactly what Van Jones preaches.
He was an official member of ba-rock’s cabinet for a time but was quietly released on a Friday night while the media ignored the story. He is still in ba-rock’s circle of friends.

And the dimrat party and their media ignores the gathering storm. They think they will be immune to the rampaging obamabots.

fools.

“Bearden receives $195 each month, which would be reduced by 5 percent or $10 less from her monthly payout.”

So we’re still giving her $185/month...

The loom...It sure did. My bro was a genius. We did marketing...taking orders for specific colors and designs. Our business soared.

50 years later, one of my favorite aunts said she still had hers. Kinda made me cry. She passed away a few months ago.

Great memories.

And imagine getting 1 cent per worm. We watered the lawn and voila...300 worms...no problem. The genius was bringing them to the sport store on Thursday to provide for the weekend fishermen.

Ha ha. You actually sound more creatively industrious than I in that we merely made the potholders as Xmas gifts and most of my regular labor was paid, but on the family farm.

“Michelle Bearden who can’t do without her food stamps. Maybe she can get the sperm donor to pay for his child instead of asking strangers to pay for her food.”

I “remind” my dogs (like this does any good), who have walked Florida beaches while on vacation TWICE, that I did not even SEE the ocean, vacation or not, until I was in my 20’s. The number of times I went on vacation with my mom and dad: 0.0. And yet, I didn’t grow up feeling “deprived”.

This recent “food stamp crisis” reminded me of the adage: “Any government is three meals away from a revolution”. People thought I was being ridiculous when I would state that basically we have degenerated to paying off formerly hard-working people with no jobs not to riot through welfare and so on. Now...?

I had to be on food stamps many years ago for a short time. Never before or after, have I had as much to spend on groceries.

“I hear there’s jobs picking grapes out in California if your Model T will get you there.”

That would be lost on most of these people.

It probably would have been better if Jones had stayed in the White House. He now has a public forum to spew his Pinko Marxist propaganda. Just to watch him with Newt on their show, Van Jones seems as though he is a very likable guy. A VERY DANGEROUS TYPE OF PERSONALITY.

“I’m sure a lot of the people on food stamps would prefer not to be”

I’m sure a lot of people on food stamps are happy to let someone else sweat to feed their lazy ass.
