Did you really have to be a pluperfect political prognosticator to have foreseen that none of Herman Cain, Michelle Bachmann or Donald Trump was going to be the 2012 Republican presidential nominee?
Yet on today's Morning Joe, Joe Scarboroughby way of establishing his fortune-telling street credboasted of having made those predictions, before proceeding to claim that: 1. Ted Cruz will not be the 2016 Republican nominee; and 2. there's a "very real chance" that Cruz will break from the GOP and run as an independent. View the video

Scarborough says Cruz can’t win 2016 GOP nomination; good chance he’ll run as independent. Ping to Today show list.
Why would we want to run as independents? That is stupid. We have several candidates who can win. This idiot and other MSMs are trying to make Cruz out to be a non-team player.
I'll bet he voted for Obama in the general .
Payback is bi%C& Joey. I’d rather split the party and vote on principle than vote for another cowardly republican every again.
By the way — Ted Cruz’s unfavorables are the same as obama’s. Stupid republicans just don’t get it.
These people don’t get it. Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin, Rand Paul, are on a crusade to TAKE OVER and CHANGE the GOP and run the little panty waisted Scarboroughs to the sidelines....
Cruz has really got the libs spooked. They are funny to watch when in panic mode!
Name one. I'm open to being convinced.
If we nominate Juan McCain, Mitt Romney or Bob Dole again, forget it.
The Republican Party is dead to me. Henceforth, I will only support individuals.
Like Ted Cruz.
Way too early. There are mid-term primaries and a mid-term election first.
Oops...Bill Gates spells Mika as Nina.
Cruz’s “assigned team” in our two party system is the Republican party. The MSM doesn’t have to make Cruz out to be a non-team player. He isn’t a team player - within the Republican party. He’s not interested in furthering the interests of the Republican party because those interests are all-too-often the interests of the liberal Left.
His “actual team” is the American people.
They were trying to push the fat RINO Christie as the GOP nominee in 2016 on CNBC this morning. That will assure Hillary’s win, of course.
These people dont get it. Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin, Rand Paul, are on a crusade to TAKE OVER and CHANGE the GOP
Precisely, what the libs are afraid of — a tough, conservative GOP without the likes of Juan M. and Linda G.
...yes, libs do fear that....including the GOP libs!!!
Time for the new Libertarian Tea Party!
I concur; no 3rd party ... at least until AFTER 2016
Oh YES YES YES - such great news on a Monday morning.
You said: “Deliverance Banjo Boy is running as a twice-divorced moron with a dead woman in his district office and a burning desire to get into Nina’s knickers.”
I concur too, but of course the point of the article is that JS thinks Ted Cruz is going third party - and clearly that is not his plan.
No, he’s trying to split the vote—so Hillarity! can win.
Cruz seems to have come to terms with the fact that the GOP nominating process really IS that broken.
Great, let's make it a 3-way with Cruz. At least conservatives will have a fighting chance as the liberals split themselves between Hillary and RINO-of-the-month.
In a two-way race, for every mush brain we pick up, we lose two conservatives. The communists have perfected building a 51% coalition out of their hard-liners and mush brains, using birth control and abortion as the bait.
A 3-way race looks much better. If we can hold our 40%, and get the GOP to nominate a mush-brain dreamboat like Jeb or Christie, we stand a good cahne to win.
Well at present I would love to see a CRuz/Palin ticket.
I went thru the debacle of the long eared galoot from Texas who split the ticket and ushered Clinton into the WH. I don’t wish to see that happen again.
Ronald Reagan was very much treated the same way Ted Cruz is. He didn’t run off and start a third party.
The media conveniently ignores how the Tea Party Pubs, led by Cruz & Lee, have stopped obama in his tracks. They stopped gun control, So far amnesty has been stopped, so far killing the sequester and raising taxes has been stopped, and turning the focus back to obamacare has been done. We have a lot of liberal Pubs who want to give in on these things, but the longer the fight goes on the better our chances.
The liberal Pubs in the House are going to have to ask themselves if they really want to give back their perks as the majority if they surrender, because if they do surrender I think it's likely the Tea Party Pubs will toss out Bohner.
I voted for Palin, I voted against Obama, and I voted for Ross Perot. I realize now what a disaster that McCain would have been. We would have global warming and other socialist BS shoved down our throats setting up the country for an Obama-type socialist. Romney was only slightly better than McCain due to his measured (although liberal) response.
Split the votes among the GOP canidates while the Dems get behind one canidate and what do you get? There’s your answer...
They dont seem very scared at all. Now they are making demands of GOP in return for a Debt limit increase, Reid : 'So you need a debt limit increase?? Well then you must pay!'
Where do you see fear?
if the citizen’s vote actually meant something the power elite that controls the US government would not allow us to vote
Because the US needs a 2nd political party to oppose the existing one. I hope when an opposition party forms it has a way to attract unhappy democratic voters also. There’s plenty of dissatisfaction all around.
libs won't support a RINO... ever... to them, RINOs are too conservative...
It pretty much sums up Slow Joe's career.
“...a burning desire to get into Nina’s knickers. “
He would have a lot more elbow room getting in her head. It’s empty.
That's partly true, but only because the media can portray a RINO like Romney as "ultra conservative" because there are no conservative candidates to compare to. Think of it this way: having a both a RINO candidate and a conservative candidate dilutes the propaganda power of the media.
That would be one way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
No Joe there is a very good chance Cruz will run and the GOP nominee.
At this moment in time, I will vote for Cruz regardless of the Party he runs under. If he was the dem nominee, for the first time in my life I’d vote dem.
Cruz sure seems to be the patriot we need at this time. I think he’d be the most anti-nobama as would be possible and could easily reverse all the dems past and present damages, with or without Congress, if by no other means than to follow the dem’s playbook rules.
No, it is not.
Have a hard time with games a bit more involved than Old Maids do ya?
The Community Organizer way is to bluff your way through even when the odds are stacked high against you. Never give in. Shoot for the Moon, what have the dems to lose?
If he does. I will vote for him.
Yup. He can win the GOP nomination, and then take over the RNC. Won’t need to form a new party. However, if they mess with the rules to prevent him from winning, then he should form a third party. We will see.
And I think it’s important to remember that even as Reagan started to dominate the party, there was still a big time moderate force - the control of parties in these situations is always a close tilt....51-49 or so.....neither side ever has everything. Reagan tilted it enough, as did Newt in 94 (before he went the other way) - and Cruz can do it too....as can probably some others.
The country will, I have very little doubt, be burning long before then.
Joe will need armored security to get in and out of his high rise or where ever he lives.
Suits me fine. Better alternative than writing in Vladimir Putin when the Pubs nominate their next RINO.
What are the Dems unhappy with? Aren’t they getting all the want with Hussein?
J Scab is a moron’s moron
I support Ted Cruz and not any other elected politician right now, I wouldn’t spit on a burning libertarian
