Shelves in Two Lousiana Walmarts Cleared When Welfare Recipients Thought They Were Getting Free Food
PJ Media ^ | October 14, 2013 | Bryan Preston

Springhill Police Chief Will Lynd confirms they were called in to help the employees at Walmart because there were so many people clearing off the shelves. He says Walmart was so packed, “It was worse than any black Friday” that he’s ever seen.

Lynd explained the cards weren’t showing limits and they called corporate Walmart, whose spokesman said to let the people use the cards anyway. From 7 to 9 p.m., people were loading up their carts, but when the cards began showing limits again around 9, one woman was detained because she rang up a bill of $700.00 and only had .49 on her card. She was held by police until corporate Walmart said they wouldn’t press charges if she left the food.

What do you think will happen when the same people expect to get “free” health care”?

Our dog is a ‘found’ dog. Someone threw her out (I think literally, she limped for a while) on the corner near our house. She was 2yrs or so old according to the vet, wasn’t fixed or house broken either. We had her fixed and shotted and she gets regular heart worm pills.

She will NOT, however, go inside any enclosure. At all. We bought her a really nice doghouse. She refused to go inside. Even with venison temptations. She won’t even go on our porch. Much less inside the house. She must have been mistreated prior to being abandoned. *sigh*. She’s a really sweet dog though and always gentle as she can be with the kids, if a bit exciteable. She’s in a carport with fenced in grassy area about 30X50 so she has protection and a yard and hubby built her her own ‘roofless’ doghouse that we put under the carport. We put cedar chips and DE in it and she’s been fine ever since. She HATES deer though. I know when the deer are eating my garden because she wants those deer so badddddd. LOL.

Fortunately for us it’s mild here in the wintertime and we’ve got the outside area for her to be ‘free’ and yet out of inclement weather if she wants. We debated taking her to the no kill shelter in Jackson/Rankin but decided against it. Most of those dogs never get adopted and spend their lives in a 5X6 concrete dog pen surrounded by umpteen other barking dogs. That would drive our dog nuts. She loves to dig :) And chase chipmunks. And frogs. And crickets. And she can hear the UPS truck coming a mile away. She hates the UPS dude.

She’s my garden dog companion. If our road wasn’t so busy I’d let her out of her yard at night to keep the deer away. I’m afraid she’d get hit though :( .

God, I love people like you :) Your wonderful dog sounds perfectly happy in the open, that’s where he chooses to be, and y’all have made it his home. I’m so glad God led him to you. I think dogs are God’s perfect creature!

And don’t worry about her not getting to roam enough. I find that my rescue dogs, especially being older, are happy to just be comfortable and cared-for and loved. I have one who literally wouldn’t move off my bed if I didn’t make her get down to at least eat. (She does use the doggie door for “business”, lol).

I agree. If we hadn’t had inside cats that were very elderly I might have tried to acclimate her to ‘inside’. We didn’t think it was fair for the cats though and might have driven the doggie nuts besides. She found us one December. We walked out on the driveway to a whimpering, limping, obviously emaciated dog. :( Mean people suck.

She had deer meat (cooked) last night though. She smelled it when I walked out of the house and started the whimpering/begging noises LOL.

I’d actually like her to be an inside/outside dog. But she’s happy where she is. Lots of shade in the summer and cool grass to roll around in. And a nice warm bed in her shelter in the wintertime. I dust her with flea stuff periodically and we keep fresh DE in her bed. She doesn’t really scratch that we can tell. And I’m not eaten up with fleas when I’m out there with her either. So we’re big big fans of the DE. I use the food grade stuff though, so it’s a bit spendier than the other stuff. I can’t rave enough about the DE.

i just hired a 16 year old black kid from the neighborhood.
i pay him 10 -12 dollars an hour for yard work. he knocked on my door looking for work. i have seen him mowing lawns and working at the car wash. i asked him what his mom did. he said she is a “stay at home mom.
they live in the projects.
he may be able to break the cycle. God bless young men like him.
wish there were more.

Good for you! As well as the hand pump for your water well, you might want to consider a small water filter similar to these two models:

http://www.katadyn.com/usen/katadyn-products/products/katadynshopconnect/katadyn-water-filters-endurance-series-products/katadyn-pocket-1/

http://www.katadyn.com/usen/katadyn-products/products/katadynshopconnect/katadyn-water-filters-backcountry-series-products/katadyn-vario-1/

As a backup or incase you have to bug-out, almost any source of fresh water (ponds, ditches, streams, lakes, or etc.) can be made potable. Don't forget storage containers. Something in the five gallon size with handles works well (not too small, not too large).

Hate to appear cynical, but don’t turn your back until you’ve gotten to know this person; that takes time.

Other people have told me about the DE, I have to remember to try it. I’m older myself, so with 5 large dogs, we suck it up and have the mobile vet come do their shots, etc. They’re all spayed/neutered, all on Revolution and Hartguard. I clip their claws myself. I’d have every stray mutt I see at my house if my more objective DH didn’t draw the line. I hope this sounds as iI mean it-I’m glad my dogs are old enough to go before I do, because I don’t know who I could trust to love them and care for them as I do. I mean, there’s 5 of them!

I can remember when you could just buy the stuff and give them their shots yourself. Dang government has to mess with everything!

Reminds me of the scene in IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE, during the Bank run. People are lined up and Bailey Savings and Loan and George asks what will they need to get through until the Banks open again. One guy wants ALL his money and the older woman asks for a small amount to get through.

Among the freebie society members, there won’t be any sharing during the bad time.

The pictures and article are a pathetic sight.

“Wait to you see the “glitch” when those cards stop working!”

Actually, that was the start of this weekend’s food stamp fiasco. The system broke down nationwide, and no one could make any purchases anywhere with an EBT card. Then, apparently, they over-corrected to create the no-limit situation. This is somehow due to a Xerox program error.

Lol, good! Better safe now. You can be sorry for hurting someone’s feelings later, and better able to make it up to them.

We get ours at the local Co-op. Jungs sells it too. I use it to keep ants out of her food dispenser. I pour a circle about 12” in diameter, sprinkle a bit in the middle and then put her dispenser in the middle of that. I’ve only had to pour out 2 batches of food this summer so far. Which is far different from my having to feed her twice a day to make sure she ate everything and didn’t have an ant nest in her food bowl within hours.

https://www.jungseed.com/dp.asp?pID=50090

I sprinkle it around the perimeter of her carport too, inside, to make sure other buggy things leave her alone. I’ve never found a tick on her either. We discussed putting her on the flea pill stuff but decided to see if the DE stuff would work. So far so good and we’ve had her 6 years now. I just pilled her with the heartworm stuff last week in fact. She’s easy to pill now. She won’t eat it herself but i guess it isn’t so gross that it takes 2 people to do the pilling.

She’s getting on and getting those gray grizzled patches on her snout :( . I know it’s only a matter of time though. I try to feed her as much ‘real’ protein as I can. She gets leftover eggs and stuff along with any meat discards. She seems to be in pretty good shape still, not overweight at all. Definitely not emaciated either.

I’ll hate to see her go. She’s very sweet and a great guard dog. She doesn’t ‘bark bark’ when someone drives up on walks by, she ‘WOOF WOOF WOOF!’s’ UPS guy always asks if she’s ‘up’ before he gets out of the truck LOL.

It's always amazing to me the varied reactions of folks in a panic or in stressful situations. It brings out the best and the worst in people. Kind of like separating the wheat from the chaff. ;)

Much depends upon the circumstance itself and the kind of people that you find yourself around at the time. There are always a few who act stupid while others are saints. It depends a lot on how grounded they are, their upbringing and beliefs.

I get through all that to post, and did not know that Natural News is not welcome on FR.

This guy does have a very good take on the psychology of the freebie entitlement society, how it impacts all of us, how it plays into the Democrat party.
