Shelves in Two Lousiana Walmarts Cleared When Welfare Recipients Thought They Were Getting Free Food
PJ Media ^ | October 14, 2013 | Bryan Preston

Springhill Police Chief Will Lynd confirms they were called in to help the employees at Walmart because there were so many people clearing off the shelves. He says Walmart was so packed, “It was worse than any black Friday” that he’s ever seen.

Lynd explained the cards weren’t showing limits and they called corporate Walmart, whose spokesman said to let the people use the cards anyway. From 7 to 9 p.m., people were loading up their carts, but when the cards began showing limits again around 9, one woman was detained because she rang up a bill of $700.00 and only had .49 on her card. She was held by police until corporate Walmart said they wouldn’t press charges if she left the food.

The real story here is that WalMart let folks take home groceries and goods without paying....because the folks were on the dole and (more than likely) black...

They would throw a white person not on govt assistance in jail if they did this

First its WalMart giving health benefits to Homos but heynot straight folks....now its pandering to welfare minorities

But...hey...it’s all OK....because Free Trade Communist Liberals love WalMart.

Walmart deserves some of the blame here, too. They took advantage of the situation (read: mooched) just as badly as any of the customers...

You're instincts are exactly right. This was the proverbial "Shot across the bow", right up there with barrackading the war memorials. It was a quick and subtle "Look what I can do", just enough to make someone know just how far over the edge we are hanging, and what could happen if the real push is given.

The low-information voters are barry-boy's brown-shirts. When he give the nudge, it will make the Night of the Broken Glass look like a picnic...

That was done over the weekend.

First they took away, then they gave in excess. There’s a pattern there for anyone willing to pay attention.

Okay, so prosecute the abusers and put them in jail.

But that will cost us more than the foods stamps were costing right? So offer them a suspended sentence if they agree to exile for the term of their prison sentence.

Then work out a deal with some third world countries. We'll send you people that are better educated than the average person in your country.

This will have several effects:

  1. While in exile they'll have to fend for themselves without U.S. gov't aid.
  2. If the third world country can put them to work, they may find meaning for their lives.
  3. They might choose to stay in their new third world country home. (Big fish in a small pond as opposed to a small fish in a big pond).
  4. Those that do come back after their prison sentence, might appreciate the U.S. a little more.

And if this works, duplicate the glitch in more cities.

Yep.

Unfortunately, too many of us have been trained to only see these things as discreet and separate parts and not as pieces of the whole that they are.

Or, they wanted to profit handsomely off of a shopping spree by people who suddenly had unlimited access to other people’s money.

I don’t know about Wal-Marts, but I know that’s true about the tons of mini-marts in central cities which sell liquor, lotto tickets and a few convenience items like, say, lobster.

There is a VERY important lesson here: It only takes a few hundred people to eliminated the primary source of food for thousands!

Think about how many food stores are within 50 miles of where you live and think about the fact that the shelves can be emptied in just a few hours (as we've seen) by only a small percentage of the people that live in that same 50 mile radius. If the registers, coolers, shelving and etc. had been damaged, it could be weeks before those stores would be back in operation and food back on the shelves.

Worse, the shortage created by the first disruption can easily cause additional runs on food supplies when they become available. Probably not applicable to most FReepers now, but if you haven't prepared for the possibility of food shortage, better do so ASAP.

I also heard that when the correct card amount started showing up, word got out and shoppers fled, leaving food in the isles, still in the carts.

Typical “free stuff” voters.

What a mess we are in! Unfortunately there is no end in sight.

They buy a lot of pre-packaged food that can be sold for cash.

“THOUGHT THE WERE GETTING FREE FOOD??? They DO get free food “

And obesity is the number one health problem among the EBT crowd. I blame Obama for endangering their health by feeding their habit.

“it will make the Night of the Broken Glass look like a picnic...”

but picnics require food, which they can’t supply on their own...and about 24 hours after they’ve emptied all the shelves in town, they’re finished.

I know what you are saying.

Imagine for a moment that Walmart announced that they were going to stop taking EBT, SNAP, WIC transactions. Problem solved right? Do you think that Target would just stare at that pile of revenue and say “We wouldn’t stoop that low”?

Maybe it is the politicians that have run a-muck buying votes with money taken from us at the point of a gun that are to blame?
