Dissent: U.S. veterans take to the barricades after the White House tries to deny them their right to gather, a mere week after the administration lets a pro-illegal immigration rally take place. Our rights are under siege.

Richard M. Nixon, when faced with massive demonstrations during the Vietnam War, at least had the courage to leave the White House and speak with the assembled young demonstrators. And, contrary to his image, he didn't sic the police on them.

Not so President Barack H. Obama.

Thousands of vets stormed the World War II Memorial on the National Mall Sunday — tearing down the barricades that blocked access to our national monuments — in protest over the government shutdown.

Tea Party stalwarts Sen. Mike Lee and Sen. Ted Cruz, along with former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin spoke to the vet groups — no doubt infuriating the White House. Meanwhile, veterans, truckers, bikers and others chanted "Tear Down These Walls" and sang patriotic songs.

As Doug Mainwaring of the American Thinker reported, "People drove through the night or flew in the day before from as far away as Florida, Louisiana and California. One active-duty soldier flew in from Germany just to participate in the two-hour rally, and rushed off to fly back so he wouldn't be AWOL on Monday."

And Obama's response to this "Million Vet March" — which included an "Honor Flight" of World War II veterans — and its display of patriotic emotion?

What has become of America?

Obama, his Marxist handlers and supporters are trying to control every free American in this country.

Ask your Democrat co-workers and relatives if they are for keeping Veterans out of their war memorials. This shows how completely detached the Democrat party is from Americans.
There are two nations within our borders. There is The United States of America, and there is Democratland. The citizens of Democratland are trying to keep the citizens of The United States away from the United States war memorials.

The sad thing is that there are many thousands of students that lack the education to graduate high school but they’re graduated anyway, it’s easier on the teachers I guess.

It was pretty clear from what few videos there were from yesterday the police didn’t want confrontations, hopefully that doesn’t change.

It was nice theater for the un-initiated...

If the people who can get up there and make their statements asserting their right to assemble and address their grievances, can still show up...

One of two things will happen, well, actually three...

#1 Nothing, and the repubs cave and give the liberals everything they want, and then not negotiate after the fact...(this is the most likely thing to happen...)

#2 the police and other agencies will crack down legally and physically on these “terrorists”, and the country then becomes unglued...(would not surprise me)

#3 The government defaults on their debt that they alone accrued, and therefore cannot pay their forces to crackdown on anything...And the country languishes in economic stagnation...(A win for the liberals, who will then sit back and bask in their success, blaming it ALL on repubs...)

Just my opinion...
