if big tobacco was smart they’d extract all the nicotine from their tobacco and make their own ecigs with their own flavors, tout them as safer and 400+ chemicals fewer than their competitors, and screw uncle sugar because there’s no tobacco tax on ecigs.

PREMIER Smokeless Cigarette

Premier was a smokeless cigarette released in the United States in 1988 by the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. It worked by heating and aerosolizing tobacco flavour and was intended to reduce or eliminate the unhealthy side effects associated with smoking, both to the smoker and to the people around the smoker.

The project took several years to develop at a cost of more than $1 billion.

While RJR itself questioned whether the device functioned adequately as a nicotine delivery device, activists derided it for its potential for use in delivery of other drugs. It never achieved popularity, as smokers complained about a charcoal-like aftertaste, and although it looked like a conventional cigarette, special instructions were required to teach smokers how to light it. RJR estimated that it would take two or three packs for a smoker to acquire a taste for Premier, but in practice many smokers only smoked one cigarette and shared the rest of the pack. It was withdrawn from the market in 1989, less than a year after its introduction.

R.J. Reynolds reintroduced the concept behind the Premier cigarette as the Eclipse brand in the 1990s.

I switched to ecigs and haven’t had a cigarette in two years after having smoked for 43 years

Ditto me that, other than I smoked for maybe five years longer than you.....my dentist gave me a Vapor For Life card, and neither wifey nor I have looked back since.

Once you've got the setup gear, the financial savings are great also.

nobody uses e-cigs to move onto regular cigarettes.

they do use them to get OFF of regular cigs.

this is just crap to crack down on ecigs because uncle sugar ain’ t getting their tobacco taxes.

And don’t forget the big Pharma funded front groups who will lose sales of useless nicotine replacement products.

Big tobacco is involved now, For better or worse. I am really not sure which. Lorillard bought Blu ecigs. Altria is introducing something called the Mark 10 and so is RJR.

On one hand it may be a Good thing since they are in a position with money and power to buy influence and write laws.

On the other hand even before big tobacco got in the Pharma and taxpayer-funded front groups blamed them for introducing e-cigarette’s. Even though they had nothing to do with it at the time.

On the other hand it just proves that there is a God and he has a sense of humor. These liars and greedy charlatans in government and nonprofit groups are going to become really poor. Human ingenuity is amazing.

I guess what I’m saying is I don’t know ....I have a lot of hands. :-)
