Surprise: Reid Flatly Rejects Moderate GOP Offer, Dems Plot to "Break" Republicans

**SNIP**

When the president himself wanted to initiate discussions prior to shutdown, Harry Reid vetoed it, effectively overruling Obama. The Post report also notes that Nancy Pelosi has permitted dozens of House Democrats to vote with the GOP on a litany of common-sense piecemeal bills to restore funding to popular and essential elements of the federal government. She ran the political calculus and allowed certain members to break with the party in order to avoid being targeted with potent attack ads next year. She did so knowing that these fixes would be dead on arrival in the Senate. In short, the consistent theme of these machinations is ruthless partisanship. Democrats want the American people to believe that they're the responsible adults in the room, yet behind the scenes, they've undermined every opportunity for consensus.

To anyone even remotely paying attention this is no “surprise”.

Republicans are a buncha wusses. They’ll cave. They always have. No wonder Reid thinks along such lines.

Actually, this could be really good news. There may be an inkling of a hope that Susan Collins and some of these RINO clowns will wake up and see that they’re trying to deal with snakes and scorpions—and that there is no reason to think Dingy Hairy and Obamugabe will EVER keep any promises they make.

About anything.

“It is a game”

One that the PC GOP-e do not fathom.

They should’ve stated from the beginning that every time they hear the words no negotiations it would bring about further demands to de-fund other non-essential items such as entitlements and that non-negotiation was not a tactic to bring about consensus (bi-partisan or otherwise).

This was so simple and the effed it up again. They should’ve never stated that they were going to de-fund obamacare - after all, the best way to get a really bad law repealed is to let it go into effect fully.

I could get behind them stating that the ACA is not as it was written at the time of passage and that all waivers and/or subsidies need to be eliminated so that the law is in full effect. That way they wouldn’t be tinkering with it and could remain blameless for all of the bad mojo associated with the PPACA.

Yep, Lobloather, it’s a game. Sadly, the pubbies play it badly.

The pubbies need to stand firm and shout to the rafters every time the dhimmicraps turn down a bill, or offer up a plan that includes ACA, unlimited debt, or eliminating the (0bama) sequester.

They have NO NEED TO CAPITULATE. They do, however, have a serious need to get the message out...loud and long.

Harry Reid doesn’t call the shots. But he does deliver the instructions to Obama from those who do.

Don’t you just love that —Pelosi has permitted some Democrats to vote with the Republicans. I wonder how many of those constitutents realize that the Democrats they sent to Washington do not represent them or their own conscience but what Nancy Pelosi and the Dem leaders demand. This is the Politburo.

A game the Dems can only win with the media’s fervent assistance.

Boehner uses similar methods- vigorously reported by the media.
Harry and Nancy’s shenanigans- vigorously censured from the media.

Most media polls on the shutdown haven’t even offered the response; “blane congressional Democrats” as a choice.

I don’t need to be in the Senate for twenty years to see what the Democrats are, I could see that right from home just by watching CSPAN. What dolts these liberal Republicans are.

No longer a game in any way, shape or form.

Democrats want their war. Now. Like the muslims, they think they won.

The absurd thing is the Republicans refuse to expose what is going on. They just keep groveling and coming back with counter-offers instead of using this opportunity to educate the people

If it weren’t for ObamaCare, Nancy Pelosi would still be Speaker of the House.

And if ObamaCare isn’t completely repealed, Nancy Pelosi will never be Speaker of the House again.

The Democrats are destroying themselves by refusing to negotiate an end to the monster they’ve created. Nancy and Harry should be in Obama’s office every day, pleading with him to at least delay the personal mandate for a year, so that the registration fiasco that’s been a growing embarrassment for two weeks can end. But they seem too idiotic to even consider such a thing.

The lib Representatives push the blame off to the Senate and the Senate pushes it off to the Representatives. No one gets blamed. They played this game during the amnesty vote and during the Obmacare vote. The Dems always protect the Dems from sensible conservative states and swing states. Hopefully the Republicans while hang tough like they did for Obama care, remember how the Dems had to bribe Mary Landrieu with that huge “Louisiana puchase” and Ben Nelson got the cornhusker kickback?

I think the Dems are united because they are a team and they want to take over the WHOLE country. The government is the corporation of the Democrats and they are monopolists, they do not want competition. The pathetic Republicans, on the other hand think in terms only of their own careers and do not think of their party as a team.

I know, I know...sometimes, though, it is easier to see something from a distance than when you’re up close.

But believe me, I totally understand.
