Craig James 'Shocked' over FOX Firing for Beliefs

FOX Sports Southwest hired former NFL running back Craig James as an on-air analyst only to fire him days later. The move came after statements he made on gay marriage while campaigning for the Senate resurfaced.

"People choose to be gay," he said during an April 2012 campaign stop. "I think it's a choice, I do. Same-sex marriage, if someone chooses to do that, that's done. And God's going to judge each one of us in this room for our actions. And in that case right there, they're going to have to answer to the Lord for their actions."

James said it was those sincerely held religious beliefs that led to the Sept. 2 firing.

"I was shocked that my personal religious beliefs were not only the reason for FOX Sports firing me, but I was completely floored when I read stories quoting FOX Sports representatives essentially saying that people of faith are banned from working at Fox Sports," James told Breitbart.com.

While one statement from FOX Sports seems to confirm James' suspicions, another contradictory statement said the former running back was let go because he wasn't a good fit for the position.

Now James is pursuing legal action against the network.

I do not follow Fox Sports, and have not read stories quoting FOX Sports representatives essentially saying that people of faith are banned from working at Fox Sports, but increasingly saying anything that is contrary to the homosexual PR leaves one blacklisted. As foretold.

If he wasn’t a good fit then why was he hired in the first place?

Let’s wait and hear the whole story. Maybe he sucked at the job. Automatically, its because he is gay?

Fired for having an opinion on something besides football? So Costas can chime in on the horrors of redskin? Whisky Tango Foxtrot.

One thing we know for sure. Homosexuals are coming out of the woodwork.

If they are born gay, what took so long for their birth rate to soar? If they are born gay, why are they recruiting in schools. Perhaps a few are born gay I will give them that. But most are recruited, and recruitment has been producing numbers for them.

What if you’re a born murderer. Is it OK for them to murder?

Costas is a grandstanding, homo-loving butt boy. That's why he gets a pass.

It's a birth defect.

If this is true, then it’s another indication of how homosexuals have taken over the entertainment industry. I find there is an increasing trend to portray homosexuals and their relationships as normal, thus promoting homosexuality to our youth. If it’s natural, shouldn’t we as a race cease to exist after a few generations?

Only conservative sports announcers get fired.

Liberal a-holes stay on forever.

Don’t forget the homosexual pedophiles are born “that way” and should be allowed to be who they are without fear of persecution.

Then there’s those who are born “that way” to engage in bestiality....

It’s all about civil rights, doncha know?

Might I suggest that Craig James very public role in the firing of Mike Leach at Texas Tech while he was a supposedly unbiased ESPN announcer played a much greater part in his failure to be hired by Fox than his views on homosexuals.

Actually, “his” view is simply following God’s statement of what is right and what is so bad He describes it as an abomination.

To support homosexuality in any way is being a “Godphobe” and declaring war on God.

Good luck with that strategy!

No one knew anything about Craig James “Christianity” until he ran for office. Now he’s being hailed as a martyr. I think he’s full of crap. There is no way any network is going to touch this guy and it has nothing to do with his views on homosexuality

If we are going to stress reading the articles, and go against tradition, it’s really going to cut into thread postings in a negative way.

Can’t we come up with an alternative like posting in pig-Latin?

That’s my question too. He made those comments in 2012, not recently - or even on air. The least Fox sports had to do was google his name. Fox sports showed me they are no better than ESPN so now I don’t watch either.
