Everytime I go to my doc I pay the copay upfront. Has always been that way. I sign in and sit down. The gal pulls up my chart which has insurance infor on it and then calls my name. When I walk up to the window she tells me what my copay is and expects a check. I then sit back down and wait to be called to see the doc.

I’ve had co-pays, but huge deductibles are something new to me. My insurance before the current occupant inhabited the white hut had no deductible at all. $20.00 for an office visit was all that I paid out of pocket.

This article was saying that health care providers are expecting the deductible be paid before major medical care is provided. ($4000-$6000)
