"violations ranged from insubordination to driving too fast during the chase"

The cops were not suspended for shooting at the bad guys, they were suspended for ignoring orders and driving too fast. The execution at the end of the chase was perfectly acceptable.

It sounds like these people were driving along and police thought they heard gunfire and started chasing them. It turned out they were unarmed. I guess police are saying this is ok since they both had records. The union claims they rammed a cop car.

And neither was armed, if I remember correctly.

Being too intelligent is cause for NOT hiring. SCOTUS ruled this was legal also if I remember correctly.

First off the Keystone Kops chase shows that we’re not dealing with a disciplined police force here ... If I was a person with an arrest record and I had dozens of cops chasing me I would be certain of ONE THING ... I was going to be beaten into a coma or killed... I would probably drive to the most public place I could find WITH CAMERAS and stop the car and surrender IN VIEW OF THE CAMERAS...

“Do you have to flunk an IQ test to become a cop these days???

No, but it helps if you have a single digit IQ and a stupid streak that makes you want to kill people. I am just wondering how far off the first reprisal is for this kind of stuff. Somehow, there needs to be communicated to all cops the fact that they are not free to take people's lives indiscriminately. Dogs too!
