What a lame excuse for raiding a horse endurance ride at midnight in the Talledega National Forest 2 weekends ago.
Riders & horses were there for a 3 day event. Such events on Federal land require a permit & payment for permits a minimum of 6 months in advance.
There are myriad other advance expenditures for the ride manager(s).
A pair of rides 30 mile & 55 mile swere scheduled on Friday.
Sayurday, a 25 mile, a 50 miles & a 75 mile ride were schedulaed.
Sunday, a 25 mile & a 50 mile ride were scdheduled.
The article here on FR which told about this raid didn’t clearly say if the raid happened on Friday night or Saturday night.
But—ARMED NPS rangers & ARMED U S Marshals RAIDED this base camp at MIDNIGHT, which had to have terribly frightened horses & riders. I don’t know how many entries they had total. But this is a popular ride in that region.
Everyone was told to load up & pack up & get out of the camp—immediately!!!
These riders & their horses are terrorists?
I hardly think so. Obama & his minions are lying again & over-reaching. They should be sued for the losses incurred by all involved.
