From the article: Some establishmentarians worry the Tea Partiers are already blithely driving the GOP into the ground. “I don’t think they care about the party. I think they care about issues and philosophies,” said Tom Davis, a former congressman from Virginia and onetime chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

Sure we care about our principles. Sorry you don't have any.

But, we also care about a nation that has an out of control credit card and an out of control treasury printing press that is ruining the nation. We care about a takeover of the best healthcare system in the world that's been replaced with one they'd be proud of in Zimbabwe. We care about a snooping NSA, a series of murders in Fast and Furious, a lying campaign after Benghazi, an IRS that targets the political enemies of liberals, and a president who'll spend millions on vacation but not pay for the burials of our returning war heroes.

The GOP is simply in this to be the 2nd string, to get 2nd stringer pay, because that's still a lot of power of money.

The GOP does NOT care about America. At all.

I’m pretty sure that 2014 will be a good year for the Democrats. And what difference does it make anyway?

In the post SHTF republic political parties should be outlawed.

A great part of our downfall stems from the fact that most elected representatives and most appointed bureaucrats place the interests and success of their political party far above their fealty to the nation and loyalty to the Constitution.

I’m done done with the GOP, and I’m done with lobbyists. I sent the NFIB representative packing the other day. they haven’t accomplished much of note lately, except for getting my money for years. That’s over.

For obvious reasons a 3rd party attempt just wont work. Staying the course with the Tea Party will be more effective.

We have about 60-80 Tea Party folks in congress now..counting both houses. We just need to keep gaining ground. Primaries and especially off yr elections will be a key factor. Dont forget local elections too.

Look, nothing would please the Left more than to see the Right split into two easily defeatable parties. The answer is to continue to do what we’re doing. Take over the establishment party, seat by seat, until we are the dominant wing. It may take more than a few election cycles but forming a third party would take decades. Decades we don’t have if we want to save the republic.

Molly,

Want to know who started this war?

We'll see who ends it.

If the conservatives are declaring war on the GOP, it's only a belated response to the undeclared, but no less real, war the GOP has waged on conservatives.

Or as I saw someone post on Twitter yesterday - if the GOP wants to reassure conservatives, they should remind them of all of their limited-government victories. Of course, they'll have to first find one...

Stripping the power of the purse from Congress means that Washington is now irrelevant. As Mark Levin states, only the state legislatures can save us now. The Constitution must be restored and only Article V. solutions are viable now. We have a very small window. We now live under a dictatorship and this is WNITER AT VALLEY FORGE.

PIPE DREAM:

Would a separation from the GOP only pull away the conservative wing of the GOP? Or, could it also pull in some of the Dems too? Within the Democrat party you have the centralized government progressives and the leave me alone liberals. Within the GOP you have the centralized military government progressives and the leave me alone libertarians.

Consider this thought. The “liberals” always proclaimed a desire for less government intervention. Does that differ drastically from Tea Party? If not, then could they not find a warmer home within a third party. Thus, leaving both the Progressive Dems and the Progressive GOP to start dating each other?

Without conservatives, the GOP is nothing.

They’re about to find that out . . . Again.

But they will not learn from the experience . . . Again.

Conservatives (and conservative thought) deserve a party to voice their opinions? What an outrageous idea. Everyone, like Miss Ball, knows that the Republican Party should simply be a party of lackeys and submit to everything their Dem lords and masters desire of them.

I began my defunding right after the Romney defeat. Not a dime for anyone who didn't vote the right way on the defund. Portman, I'll consider: he voted with Cruz to keep the filibuster going, although he was not one of the final 18 or so to vote against the last iteration---but to me the more important vote was the first one that actually had a chance of succeeding.

Have to review Mike Turner's votes, but Jim Jordan? I'll give him money any day.

The GOP has largely abandoned conservative principles. Is it any surprise that conservatives are inclined to abandon the GOP?

The country is going to be dominated by the left for the foreseeable future because the GOP and the Tea Party style conservatives cannot and will not coexist.

The vote from the right will be split or ‘stay home’ and the left will continue to elect Presidents like Obama.

As that domination increases, the country will be irrevocably transformed into the ‘progressive’ mold—bigger government, less freedom, more taxes on the middle class workers, less entrepaneurship because of more regulations.

And everyone on all sides of the political spectrum will be standing in a completely changed and transformed America shouting, “I'm right.” It won't take many national elections to destroy this Republic.
