I wrote elsewhere that the NPS was biting (one of) the hands that feed them. The GOP should make life particularly difficult for them, or at least for their leaders, for as long as it takes to see that this nonsense doesn’t happen again.
And the next Republican president should clean house of the present NPS leadership, cut their budget, and return many of their functions to the states. Make an example of them so government employees think twice before blatantly siding against the people they’re supposed to serve in the future.
