Spending on advertising and outreach for food stamps by federal and state governments has also increased, now amounting to $41.3 million a year.
States like Florida have hired “food stamp recruiters,” who have a quota of signing up 150 new recipients each month. Rhode Island hosts “SNAP-themed bingo games,” and the USDA tells its field offices to throw parties to get more people on their rolls......"

My question, again, is this: are these people schnorrers or are they middle-class people who have been destroyed by Obama? Everywhere I look I see middle-class, middle-aged people working at bad paying retail jobs. Something is up.

These programs are 'Democrat voter recruitment and retention programs'. Sickening.
I think it was more stigmatized when it was actually food stamps, and not some EBT card where the person in front of you buying the cartload of lobster acts like they’re using their own credit card that they pay for!

Instead of EBT cards, why not set up a Meals-on-Wheels program instead of EBT.
It works for our "seasoned citizens" - it could work with the EBT people.
I don't know how to fund it but take the EBT money and deliver good, high value foods that aren't lobsters, cigarettes, booze, etc.
Meals-on-Wheels deliverers could earn a salary - so, some people will gain $$$ to pay for that jackass B. Hussein O. outrageous ObamaDon'tCare rip off. Someone will find a way to get around this - but these types will always find a way and share it with their friends.....

I heard a report a while back where one of these recruiters takes goodies to the elderly and tells them its their patriotic duty to sign up, even when they say they're managing fine, no thank you.
The way to ‘take away’ the goodies is to swap money for actual food ... government cheese. If people had to go to a food pantry to collect actual, basic food, I think it would cut out a lot of abuse.
It's also a bit harder to accuse someone of wanting to starve people when they're proposing giving them actual food. It's for the battered wives and children ... so an evil male family member that is still hanging around in spite of all the incentives to leave can't misuse the funds and deprive his family of food, doncha know.
Oh even better. I like that idea a lot.
that is ridiculous - defund the program which authorizes the hiring of recruiters - and with quotas?
During WW2 people showed up monthly with their whole families to get their ration books. Maybe that is the system we should use for the poor today?
This amount of bread, this amount of tea, this amount of coffee, this number of canned vegetables, this number of canned fruits.... etc etc

Just imagine all of those almost closed post offices becoming community food pantries, with add-on greenhouses.
Picture fleets of solar-powered Post Office trucks delivering fruit baskets and healthful fresh vegetables.
There was a show which took place in a super market and the upper limit on food stamp cards was missing.
When the customers found out they filled many carts as they could even as high as $1000.00, Fortunately when they were told the limit was re-emposed, they left all the loaded carts right where they were standing..
Tells a lot about the average Citizen? on food stamps.
We are being Bilked by Obama and the cloward and Piven professors from Columbia U.
