Same-sex couples who marry outside of Oregon will have their unions recognized in the state. A new opinion from Oregon’s Department of Justice stated the change.

The state’s decision took effect immediately. It does not mean gay couples can marry in Oregon, but now the state recognizes legal marriages from other places.

Gay marriage is constitutionally banned in Oregon. The people voted it so. But some government bureaucrats decided they know better and are unilaterally ordering the recognition of out of state gay marriages. Since Oregon borders California and Washington, both with legalized gay marriage, the constitutional amendment has been effectively annulled.

Another day in modern America. I am sure the Republicans in Congress and the conservatives in the media will fight this tooth and nail.

NOT.

Let’s hope the lawsuits fly. There is no basis for this decision whatsoever.

we're not going to see a landslide of gays "marrying" for the same reasons heteos are not....its not fashionable to get married....or have children...and living together has all the good stuff and none of the bad...plus homosexuals typically are not monogamous anyway...although some are..

they will find that if they marry, their pensions, their bank accounts, their assests become community property....ha ha..jokes on you....

like to see some of them get really angry when they have to split their pension with some fleeting romance...

and don't forget to pay the lawyers....

The one sting in the tail, the scorpion in the Easter egg.
Homosexual relationships on average last a couple of months anyway.

We knew this was going to happen, this is a fluid society and the idea that federal employees and military personnel and any and all citizens and families were going to have a checker board of states where their family was legal and where it wasn’t, was always in fact, a pro-gay marriage argument.

They are doing it all over, ignoring state laws and constitutions and pretending gay marriages are legal where they clearly are not. Executive branches making laws, I wonder from whom they get those crazy ideas?
