A startup venture recruiting people for a one-way, 43 million mile trip to live on Mars has generated more signatures than all the Obamacare health insurance plans combined.
Just 712 people in Vermont have enrolled in the state's new health insurance exchange, despite $9 million in outreach, advertising and other PR expenses paid for by the federal government.
The entire state of Alaska has yet to register a single person, according to Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

Well, concerning the one way trip to Mars, there’s a better possibility of survival and coming back someday should the mission be successful. Because subsequent launches would be made, and it would no longer be one-way.
If I take the trip to Mars I won’t have to sign up for obamacare. So.....
PelosiCare was supposed to address the millions of Americans who do not have health insurance. Pres(id)ent Obama stood before the nation and said ‘If you like your health plan, you won’t have to change.’
Instead, what has happened is that millions have had their insurance plans cancelled as it doesn’t meet the mandatory requirements that are included in ACA, most notably mandatory maternity care, millions more have had their insurance costs double (again, forced adding of maternity care, and elimination of the differential between insurance for men and women) and millions more who have had their insurance policies dropped by the companies they work for (because again, the mandatory coverage raised rates for so many.)
And for the taxpayers, who already figured that there would be higher taxes on the horizon, they are in for a massive shock when they see the bill for this. Already, nearly a hundred million Americans are on food stamps - every one of those will be enjoying a substantial subsidy for health insurance. With average household incomes hovering around $51,000, a typical subsidy for that income household will be close to $300 a month.
In other words, this is quickly becoming the biggest welfare program in the nation, eclipsing the costs of food stamps and Medicare.
Congrats, liberals, you really know how to break the bank.
Look at the fiasco of just signing up for Obamacare.
Wait until the fiasco of finding a doctor under Obamacare or getting treatment or into the hospital.
Getting the insurance is one thing — Getting medical care with the insurance is something else all together.

Just imagine the cluster foxtrot if the Obamacare website actually was going to be used for insurance payments or (heaven forbid) medical treatment.
I can't see how this turns out well. In fact, I'm thinking it's the end of being able to depend on medical care. Eat heathily, stay in shape, learn about alternative cures, and buy a book about first aid.
But nobody has asked the BIG question:
“How many people who have paid to go to Mars, have *also* enrolled in Obamacare?”
OT, but did anyone notice the name of the MSNBC commentator referred to in the story? Her parents must hate her (or she really should have kept her maiden name if she’s married), but I’m guessing MSNBC must have a pretty good track record of making predictions. :)
Obviously, the sign up system worked better, too.
Better question is when is Congress going to come up with a special tax on trips to Mars to help fund Obamacare?n

Sounds about right to me, I told people before this mess was ever passed into law that it would in the end mean NO healthcare for any of us. I see no reason to think I was wrong in my estimation.
