WASHINGTON (WJZ)—Controversy over the name of Washington, D.C.’s football team is growing. Now a newspaper in Virginia says it won’t print the name Redskins. And several schools in D.C. want to ban team jerseys from their classrooms.

I hope the owner of the team holds firm, just for once in my life I would love to see the political correctness brigade LOSE. Unfortunately I figure it will be a death by a thousand cuts and at some point the owner will just say “screw it, change the name” to shut them up...

I have no affinity for the DC Redskins other than they were once from Boston. However, I’m with Snyder 100%. I think he’s tough enough to say pound sand, forever, if need be. I know the Redskins have enough brand equity to withstand the limp wristed Bob Costas and dopey journo’s that don’t know a false start from offside. It’s important for the political and speech rights of the rest of us that Snyder does NOT say uncle.

Dan Snyder should play the video clip of the Obamessiah’s remarks on the Redskins on the stadium jumbotron.

Then he should play a clip of Obama’s fundraising lackey and Oneida “representative” Ray Halbritter, with text overlays explaining the relationship between Halbritter, Obama, Oneida, and the anti-Redskin game.

Then, he should light up the jumbotrong with a two-part cheer:
