Rural Maryland counties have different health care enrollment challenges
Carroll County Times ^ | October 19, 2013 | By Rachel Roubein

Rural Maryland regions are up against a different set of challenges than urban areas in the implementation of the federal health-care overhaul.

The Rural Action Assembly brought together officials from rural Maryland and other stakeholders to discuss a variety of topics, such as broadband access, climate change and health care.

Each region has navigators sprinkled throughout the counties to help enroll residents in Medicaid and qualified health plans. They also have assisters that can sign people up for Medicaid.

And it’s important to explain how affordable the plans seem to be.

“There’s a sticker shock for a lot of people, but at the same time it’s more affordable than it’s been in the past if they’ve had pre-existing conditions, and they were self-employed,” she said. “I think that people understand that once they’re educated and they’re able to compare the plans.”

As of Tuesday, the Western Maryland region has started or completed the application process with more than 250 individuals either online or on paper, according to Eric Masten, Healthy Howard health policy, advocacy and communications director.

Remember---"we have to pass it to see what's in it?

Now the monstrosity unfolds---QUADRUPLING PREMIUMS, QUADRUPLING COPAYS...plus the new COPAY to check in to the hospital, and the new COPAY to CHECK OUT.

================================================

Remember---"we have to pass it to see what's in it?

WAIT'LL DOCTORS SEE THEIR INCOME DEMOLISHED. October 2014 will usher in a new diagnosis coding called ICD 10. Even the CMS official responsible for initiating this monstrosity has admitted that PHYSICIANS NEED TO HAVE ACCESS TO ADEQUATE CAPITAL TO FUND THEIR PRACTICES FOR 6-8 MONTHS as this change will produce almost no revenue for that time period. Will your doctor be bankrupt around January 1, 2015?

=============================================

Remember---"we have to pass it to see what's in it?

O/CARE'S MASSIVE PRIVACY INVASION Doctors, hospitals, and other health professionals are being pressured to adopt electronic medical record systems and send patient information to the federal government's medical database by 2015. If they don't comply, they'll be penalized with reduced payments for services. This means the government will own your personal, private information, and you have no say in the matter.

======================================

Remember---"we have to pass it to see what's in it?

Emerging errors include duplicate enrollments, spouses reported as children, missing data fields and suspect eligibility determinations. One insurer said one enrollee had successfully signed up for three of its health plans.

Multiple enrollments? Could mean multiple identities---the conniving latino trick to get their filthy hands on more US benefits.

The more cynical among us might conclude the Chi/criminals in the WH have been ordered to salt the stats to make the O/care debacle look better.

BTW, insurers better check to see that all the enrollee are still alive and that Valerie is not employing the Chi/criminal politics MO----like the tried and true dead-and-buried-voters trick.

Mmmmmmmm....this is so reassuring (/snix).

DAILY CALLER.COM--Kansas Obamacare ‘navigator’
has outstanding arrest warrant / by Michael Volpe

>

Rosilyn Wells — the Director of Outreach and Enrollment for the Heartland Community Health-care Center (HCHC)-- was hired as an Obamacare "navigator" despite her shady financial history: (1) a bankruptcy in 2003, (2) a 2007 civil charge from a local check cashing business for writing a bad check, (3) being more than $1700 behind on her state tax bill, and, (4) having an outstanding arrest warrant in nearby Shawnee County. Wells lives and works in Douglass County.

The fact that there are "helpers" to do the shopping that people can and should do for themselves just increases the cost of Obamacare even more.

I can't wait to see how high the costs run when we move to a "single-payer" system. Hypochondriacs and drug addicts swamping the system... high-paid bureaucrats galore... "helpers" getting their hands into the pot at every step of the way... it will be glorious.

“helpers” “navigators” “assistors”...just who are these ill-trained freaks? Former unemployable degenerate LIB/DIM voters? Then to top it off one of the topics at their meeting included “climate change”??????????? Why are they discussing that? Did someone’s knees ache because it was cold? This is in-your-face LIB/DIM insanity. At least everyone will know who the commies in their community are: they are navigators, helpers and assistors.

LOL....that these pathetic people will hand over their personal information to ACORN ex-cons and the IRS thugs is simply mind-boggling. Some people deserve to be punished for being this gullible.

The article cites self-employed having a difficult time getting affordable insurance. Really? We have been self-employed nearly all our working lives. Other self-employed folks recommended an insurance agent. Great guy! He drew up a list of all the plans that met our needs, had meetings with us, showed us the comparisons in B&W, gave us his opinions based on experience and fine print we might not have understood and Voila! All his clients have become advertisements for him and the agency. We have had no reason to not trust his or their ethics in over 15 years.

We have changed plans whenever our existing one became too expensive. Even after the government began to limit the revenue options for individual insurance agents, our agent was there for us with explanations and assistance that included spending time making certain our applications met deadlines, or were not sidetracked or mislaid by the insurance company employees who seemed to work 3-day weeks.

It was far from difficult, not confusing, no glitches. I understand people buying their own insurance w/o subsidies can still deal directly with an agent or even the companies themselves. At present, our policies are cheaper than any exchange plan I have seen discussed, with better deductibles and no co-pays for basic services like office and ER visits. He found a State Part D policy for me and for friends that was 1/12 or less than individual ones and our costs are dependent on our AGI. My only worry now is that my supplement has a lifetime cap and I am afraid the premium will change if that is dropped. We are in the sign-up period, and I haven’t heard anything, so maybe they will leave it alone for the next year.

Of course, they had to do all they could to get rid of the individual agencies/agents, so the jobs and revenues could go to the bots & thugs. I wonder if government navigators are responsible to State Insurance Commissions?

The assistors will probably worry about gun ownership and racial issues as well, for such is the way of the Left.
