Gregg Woodworth may not look like who you would expect to file a lawsuit claiming racial discrimination. Hes a 55-year-old white man who likes to ride his Harley. But he says the color of his skin is ultimately why he ended up losing his job as a Mascotte Police officer.
Rolando Banasco was promoted to police chief in early 2012. Woodworth was second-in-command, as his lieutenant.
He flexed his arms in front of me and told me he could now start making room for Spanish speaking officers, and he immediately started going after Caucasian officers, Woodworth said.
Attorney Eric Frommer now represents five former Mascotte officers, all white, who say they were either terminated because of their race, or finally quit their jobs because of harassment.
He said when he filed the first claim with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission they werent even sure if they could accept it, because claims of racial discrimination against Caucasians are so rare.

“Equal Employment Opportunity Commission they werent even sure if they could accept it, because claims of racial discrimination against Caucasians are so rare.”
So effing’ what if it’s rare? Discrimination is discrimination. Do your jobs you overpaid clowns.
Didn’t you get the memo Whitey? America has been fundamentally transformed. It’s payback time./sarc
It is incredible that they want employers to overlook criminal records when hiring while still allowers employers to require Spanish. The logic boggles the mind; in my area Americans can’t get jobs dealing with customers (bank tellers, cashiers, etc.) if they don’t speak Spanish or Portuguese.
A large company I worked with lost a lawsuit because the homosexuals were discriminating against the heterosexuals.
So rare my a$$.
Back in 1991, the LAPD required white males to have a score of 110% on the written exam. 110% ! You had to have a perfect score on the written, and you were given another ten points for being a veteran of the 1991 Gulf War.
This was required of white males. That is what I was told.
White women, Mexican women, Black women, Asian women, Black men, Mexican men, Asian men, etc., could all have lower scores.
I ran into similar problems in the 1980’s with U.S. Navy officer recruiters.
Who are they kidding with this rare BS?
Their corrupt anti-white racist message cannot be any clearer.
That sucked. The production company I interned for years ago had one racist black guy who was so fat, he was 911’d while in the office due to his blood pressure. When the recession hit, all the hard working staff members were pink slipped...except for the black guy who called every white person, “the devil” in the open.
Good question. White men had to score higher for the NYPD and Fire Department tests than those who aren’t.
And this is why you have to carefully screen the applicants before you hire them. In our production company, from top to bottom, we’re all conservative/rightwing which is rare. I could tell in 3 subtle questions during the interview if you’re a lib but most of it is in the BS “written aptitude test” we wrote based on your answers.
I also remember the classified section of the “los Angeles Times” in the late 1980’s - early 1990’s.
In January and February, the LAPD would run these display ads entitled, “New Year, New Career,” encouraging men and women to apply to be an officer in the LAPD.
The display ads always had four photos showing the faces of young police officers.
I remember seeing photos of blonde, white women....Mexican women.....Mexican men.....Asian men.....black men....black women, etc., but not once do I recall ever seeing a white male in those recruitment display ads. The lack of white men in those ads, at the time, just made me shake my head with disgust.
It was an anti-white male agenda, which is still openly accepted and approved by government at all levels even today.
Same with government controlled and regulated television media. Where the white American male is publicly mocked, discredited, sneer at, treated with contempt, lampooned, and ridiculed.
Regarding my post # 6 above, I told this story to my cousin’s husband in late December, 2002, while visiting Long Island for my uncle’s wake and funeral.
My cousin’s husband was a cop in the NYPD and at the time, he was a cop with the Nassau County Police Department on Long Island. He’s still an officer with that department to this day.
There was a spread of food for the mourner’s at a relative’s house in Suffolk County in between the viewings at the funeral home. I started talking to this off-duty police officer relative, and after telling my cousin’s husband the story I related in post # 6, he looked irritated and said in a loud voice, “Sounds like discrimination to me!”
A ton of online jobs ask for diversity. I write in that I like the Cowboys AND the Mets.
I had an AA supervisor back in TV career land that kept a good face but when it just us working stiffs, there would be regular bashing of Republicans and conservative whites. He was protected.
There were a few normals here and there in my old TV network facility but the majority (98%) were die hard liberals.
During my last years there I was working on transitioning to the then hot and wide open (lol) IT field because it became apparent to stubborn me that I was never going to escape the videotape department to any of the better ones there since I could run the place by myself doing the job of a few and done so on numerous days. I never got so much as an atta-person message let alone a raise or promoted to next grade. I did get lied to a lot though by the AA manager and the rest of the con men upstairs. It took me saying lawsuit and veteran to be moved up 1 grade. I probably should have done it anyway. It was a good feeling to know that I held the trump card they were afraid of.
Back when I was a Navy recruiter there were days when we could only accept hispanics or native Americans. Whites and blacks left out in the cold, even if they were superior candidates. We were told Congress had quotas.
You are right sir. Time to take it in the shorts. Kind of sucks. I hope they win the law suit. What is really bad, is the fact that they have to even go to court at all.
Same here. After college ( in the mid 80's) I applied to be a Cryptanalysis officer. I was a mathematics major, 3.8 GPA. The paperwork came back saying I was not "professionally" qualified. I asked them what the hell that meant. They said that since I wasn't an academy graduate or went through NROTC, the remaining positions were reserved for woman and minorities ( woman because at that time did not serve aboard ships and the job was basically land based ), but minorities ?
