Colonel in charge of Quantico's Security Battalion relieved

Col. Daren Margolin has been relieved as head of Security Battalion at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va. (Marine Corps)

The two-star head of Marine Corps Installations Command has relieved the commanding officer of Quantico’s Security Battalion following an incident involving a personal weapon, Marine Corps officials said.

Col. Daren Margolin, a 24-year officer was removed from his post Oct. 18 by Maj. Gen. Juan Ayala due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command, said Capt. Maureen Krebs, a Marine Corps spokeswoman.

Krebs said the decision stemmed from a single incident last week involving one of Margolin’s personal weapons, but said she did not have authorization to elaborate on the incident. Margolin has also been charged with several violations under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, but the specific charges are not releasable because Margolin’s relief was the result of an administrative process, she said.

A legal officer, Margolin previously served at the Staff Judge Advocate for Camp Pendleton’s 1st Marine Division. He took command of Security Battalion in June.

The relief follows a series of deadly events involving firearms aboard Marine Corps installations in the National Capitol Region. In March, a tactics instructor at Quantico’s Officer Candidates School gunned down two Marine colleagues before turning his weapon on himself. Following the incident, the school’s commander, Col. Kris Stillings, was relieved of duty.

Does anyone recall this type of thing happening with frequency...

Or over single incidents that appear insignificant or unrelated to their duty?

Something about speaking to a reporter, something about poker chips, something about alcohol, something about a woman, something about a weapon.

With Bill Clinton as Commander-In-Chief, we were told to marvel at his ability to compartmentalize his human failures from his responsibilities at his job.

But now, the pattern that I'm seeing is "loss of confidence in his ability to command."

That seems like a faux cover for anything. How come our top military officers can't compartmentalize, but Bill Clinton could? < /rhetorical question>

> What if Obama is planning on turning America into a 3rd world military dictatorship?

Personally I think he’s acting on orders from someone higher up the food chain and has been told to bankrupt us and destroy our infrastructure and the core values that made the US as strong as it once was. Kidnapping our children’s souls went a long way toward that effect. Soros is one of the key players and probably a member of the Illuminati or something that resembles it.

> The NSA’s capabilities are in full force; Spying on Email, Internet browsing, phone calls, etc.. I wonder how many NSA employees the King has dedicated to spying on military brass?

With the new Bluffdale facility I’d imagine they can flag multiple targets at a time and just let Mother do her thing captuing any emails, texts, phone calls after they input that information into their profile then have it record them and use intelligent voice recognition software to convert any phone calls into text (everything else would already be in text format). Then the NSA employee would go back and scan it for certain high risk or user specific keywords which it would flag so they could go straight to that text to review it. It would save them a lot of time too.

Sure there is a purge, there always is. And yes, Colonels most certainly are important. They command *with their boots* on the ground too. Colonels have probably started more wars and lead more coups then generals.

However, this probably isn’t an example of that purge. CinC doesn’t have to have a reason to relieve somebody of Command.

If you want to get to the meat of the matter ... look at what’s recently changed over the last year or so.

I grew up in the Army, spent 25 years on active duty, and have supported senior levels of the Army for the last 20 years. The rate of these incidents is no different than at any other time during that period. The military services currently have over 900 general and flag officers, about 100 more than were authorized at the beginning of the War on Terror. The numbers relieved is very small when compared to the total - certainly not what you would see if a purge were ongoing.

Unlike politicians and civil servants, the military takes action against infractions that reflect on a lack of character. Zipper and bottle problems, lack of integrity, and anything smacking of benefiting from the privileges of office are dealt with rather severely at the General/Flag Officer level. Get caught and you are done.

Culling the herd is not a bad thing, and given that these are almost all Colonels, Brigadiers, or Two Stars, none of the actions started at the White House or even at the Department of Defense. These were all done at the Service level.

No, but Stalin and Hitler did it and they were terminated in those days... We are a short ways from that, maybe very short.

The sort of thing that would be most effective for me would be against my family. My child or children especially. My wife would have a say in the matter also.

Parents will do a lot to protect their children, it’s the way we are made. Evil people know this and how to use it. We aren’t dealing with your ordinary power hungry people here. IMO, we are faced with genuine, pathological evil.

Looks like Col. Margolin is number 10.

On October 12, 2013, ABC’s Dianne Sawyer brought us a video of a 9th, yes 9th, General fired from the military this week. It’s even reaching some of the more liberal stations and begging them to ask the question, “What is going on?”

It seems President Obama is preparing what he calls “my military” for his version of the final solution. With all the documentation we have, it looks as though he is purging the military for the next step.

We have now seen this official President Obama temper-tantrum in action this week. But is it a temper-tantrum or is there a method to his madness?

We have been warned by a Pentagon Official to expect radical changes. You heard of our dire warnings of Chinese Economists planning to foreclose and forming the TPP Treaty that could set a global economy in motion. We have the very real possibility of 16 U.S. States being shutdown and handed over due to debt in this mess. We even have a CIA whistle blower warning us that President Obama wants to radically take over power. People are crying out, where is our military in this mess?

Well, there seems to be some very credible evidence that since last year and through this year that there has been a “litmus test” given to American Military Officers. The Main point of that test, “Would you fire on an American Citizen?” If you say no, then as Donald Trump would say, “Your fired!”

Since the beginning of the year these retired officer’s have came forward with “President Obama is preparing for war against the U.S.”.

We even know Dr. Garrow and others confirmed this litmus test. Then we have heard President Obama himself talk about “My Military”.

And this isn’t all. This strange chain of firings from the Military is so bizarre and so unheard of that even Dianne Sawyer of ABC news reached out to cover it when the 9th, yes 9th, Military Commanding Officer was relieved of duty in less than a year. This doesn't include the long list last year, this is just the nine individuals this year alone.

General Carter Hamm, United States Army-Served as head of the United States African Command. Was in charge of the US African command during the fateful night of September 11, 2012 when the lives of four American citizens was taken in the Embassy in Benghazi. Hamm was extremely critical of our Commander in Chief and stated he lied about not having reinforcements in the area on that night. Hamm “resigned and retired” on April of 2013.

Admiral Charles Gaouette/United States Navy-Commander of Carrier Strike Group Three. His most recent activity served as Deputy Commander of the US Naval Forces, US Central Command. He was in charge of Air Craft Carriers in the Mediterranean Sea the night of September 11, 2012. He testified before the hearing committee and said that there may not have been time to get the flight crews there but left the door open on if told when the events took place if that he could have had the aircraft launched upon cross-examination by Rep. Tray Gowdey. Recently fired from the Administrative post and relieved of Duty by the Obama Administration for "utterance of a racial slur."

Major General Ralph Baker, United States Army- Major General Baker served as the Commander of the Joint Task Force-Horn at Camp Lamar, Djibouti, Africa. Was also involved in some aspect with the incident September 11, 2012, being under the African Command. Had said he believed attack helicopters could have made it in time. Relieved of command and fired for groping a civilian (no assault charges or sexual misconduct charges filed with JAG)

Brigadier General Bryan Roberts, United States Army-General Roberts took command of Fort Jackson in 2011. Was considered a rising star in his field. He served in Iraq during his service as the Commanding Officer of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, and was the Deputy Commanding General of the United States Army Recruiting Command, Fort Knox, KY. Relieved of Duty and Fired for Adultery. While this is still on the books in the United States Code of Military Justice, it has rarely been used since President Bill Clinton’s indiscretions.

General Gregg A. Sturdevant, United States Marine Corps-Director of Strategic Planning and Policy of for the United States Pacific Command and Commander of the aviation wing at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. Highly decorated soldier with two Naval and Marine Commendations and two Naval and Marine Good Conduct medals. He also has an Air Medal with a gold star. He served honorably and distinctively. He had asked about supplies to his command. He was one of two commanding officers suddenly relieved of command and fired from the military for failure of proper force protection.

General Charles M.M. Gurganus, United States Marine Corps- Regional Commander in the Southwest and I Marine Expeditionary Force (a forward or frontal division) in Afghanistan. Also Highly decorated with a Defense Superior Service Medal, two Legion of Merritt w/Valor, and three Meritorious Service Commendations. Major General C.M.M.Gurganus had questioned the use of Afghanistan patrols along side American patrols after two officers were executed at their desk and a platoon was lead into an ambush on the front lines. Was the other commander relieved of duty for failure of proper force protection.

Lieutenant General David Holmes Huntoon Jr, United States Army-Served as the 58th Superintendent of the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. He had graduated from the same academy in 1973 and had served in Senior Planning and Education Services through the majority of his career. He was “censored” for “an investigation” into an "Improper relationship"“ according to The Department of Defense. Nothing was released to the nature of the improper relationship. Nothing was even mentioned if an actual investigation even took place.

Vice Admiral Tim Giardina, United States Navy-Deputy Commander of the United States Strategic Command. Commander of the Submarine Group Trident, Submarine Group 9 and Submarine Group 10, where every single one of the 18 Nuclear Submarines with Nuclear Trident Missiles of those three groups were in his command. This commander earned six Legions of Merit, Two Meritorious Service Medals, two Joint Service Commendation Medals, and several other medals, ribbons and decorations in his illustrious career. He was removed from service and fired from the military for the charge of using counterfeit poker chips (not making that up).

Major General Michael Carry, United States Air Force-Commander 20th Air Force in charge of 9,600 people and 450 Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM) at three operational wings and served in both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He was Fired October 11, 2013, for "Personal Misbehavior" is what was told to ABC News. He and Giardina were both the two top Commanders over the United States Nuclear Arsenal before their dismissal within 48 hours of each other.

Another source saying 16 so far this year. More info plus video Here.

All of these guys who appear on paper to have impressive resumes and service records. They are the epitome of "Good Troops," and they all of sudden went bad? And all within a few months? This is a coup against our military. The military and the Pentagon need to step up and confront the Marxist dictator before it's too late.

Not having guns on their person was why Major Nidal was able to kill 12 military personnel unopposed until one MP shot him and slowed him down. Ft. Worth.

At the Navy Sea Systems Command, with the on-duty guard killed by the assailant, nobody could save the others who he methodically hunted down, until armed reinforcements arrived.

Looks like the Marines are going down Obama’s crapper too.

I have no idea how the military promotes (except my mom worked for the Navy as a civilian and only those not wanted were promoted), but your surprise may be the clue as to why he was promoted (not knowing the criteria or who does the “nominating”). With the de-motovation of the military by this administration, this could have been a “we know he’ll screw this up” intent or motive and therefore could be used as a subtle unconscious predisposition to distrust the military in the heart of the public, especially with the numbers of public firings, etc. The narcissist is probably jealous of how we honor our veterans and love our active duty members.

I’m a little loopy (should be asleep) so please forgive me if this isn’t understandable.

Therefore the only difference is that the media is making an Afghan mountain out of a molehill? Why? Why don’t they recognize those lost in the war like they did while Bush was President?
