D.C.'s 'Corrupt Bastards Club'
Breitbart ^ | 10/20/13 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 10/20/2013 8:06:58 AM PDT by Nachum

In Alaska we had a group of politicos who chuckled as they dubbed themselves the “CBC,” which stands for “Corrupt Bastards Club.” But it was no laughing matter. I, and many others, took them on. We won. When I served as chairman of our state’s Oil and Gas Commission, I reported on the cronyism of the chair of my own Party, who had been appointed by our governor to that same energy regulating commission. (Click here to see a reporter’s reaction to a short Newt Gingrich interview on the matter.) The whistle blowing resulted in him receiving the largest ethics fine in the state’s history. But that was just the tip of the oily iceberg. The FBI investigated Alaskan lawmakers for taking bribes from the oil industry in exchange for votes favorable to that industry, and politicos ended up in jail.* The lawmakers actually called themselves the Corrupt Bastards Club and even emblazoned the CBC initials on baseball caps they gifted each other – that’s how untouchable they believed they were. But average, concerned citizens said, “enough is enough,” and shook things up. Though some of the CBC members ended up in horizontal pinstripes, much of the compromised party apparatus stayed in power.

I’ll never forget standing at the podium during our state GOP convention and asking delegates to stand up with me and oust the status quo because the political environment had to change for Alaska to progress toward her manifest destiny as a more productive—and ethical—state to help secure our union. Only about half stood up. The rest looked around gauging the political winds and sat on their thumbs. Our federal delegation was incensed at me. Their influence resulted in much of the party machine staying put, but I’ll never be sorry I fought it.

Palin speaks the truth. I remember when she was in charge, we had good responsible govt. Since she left, it’s all went back to normal CBC; sad for Alaska.

Hi Eska!

Good God I hope Palin is gearing up for a run... To know why they tried to destroy her all you need to know is what would happen if she EVER grabbed the steering wheel in Washington. The party would be over, and the CBC denizens know it.

Great points regarding *one of us*.

Midge has been in DC for almost 30 years. His ideas are NOT helping conservatives. Maybe his 2BDam$ kickback is enough to keep some voting for him :(

Praying Sarah will stand up and say this exact same thing at the NATIONAL GOP convention. Cruz and Lee have exposed the cockroachRINO's...now, the delegates need to *oust the status quo*!

The political machine is rooted deep in every state and every locality.

Over 90 percent of elected GOP officials fake conservatism and need to be replaced.

Don’t be fooled by the emotional talk against Obama and Obamacare. They will never reverse what he has done, onlu modify or amend it.

Hello Onyx, I don't think Palin will run against Begich, but I wish she would, She is now a more National Figure, something many Alaskans detest; but me thinks they would make an exception for Sarah Palin.

A buddy of mine called in on talk radio up here and gave Begich a hard time on the show. After blowing smoke up Mark's , he jumped Mark about supporting Obama Care and on and on. Told Mark he needed a nickname and called him a liar in a better form of speak. All Mark could say was no need to start name calling, ha ha. It was too funny, but ya know, Alaskans don't forget. When I call Begich's Office, I always mention Photo Radar, and his staff yells back at me that Photo Radar was the only mistake Mark ever made, ha ha. Heck the state legislature even passed a law making photo Radar illegal, ha ha. That's how bad it was for Mark back then.

Ya know, conservatives in Alaska remember good things from Palin's reign.

We saw Louie last night at a Tea Party fundraiser. He and Jeb Hensarling were there.

Several times “Run Louie Run” was shouted form the crowd.

He’s definitely hearing it!

Thanks for posting that. It points out that a single person can't win, that small groups of individual Americans need to organize themselves the same way Sarah did and does - in many different venues.

Someone's going to own the politicians - it's either the American people or new world order financial oligarchs.

I’ve often wondered why so many fixable problems in this country, aren’t getting fixed. I’m not the most intelligent man in the world, but even I can see the prudence in securing our borders. Even I can see the wisdom in not spending more than you take in. Even I can realize that if one group of people is constantly attacking me, you focus your attention on that group of people.

Instead, we live in an era of multiculturalism and ecumenicalism, where we apply full body searches to the elderly, the infirmed, and those too young to even know what terrorism is…in an effort to be viewed as politically correct, err….I mean, fair.

So are our political leaders incompetent, or just deceptive? Granted, I still believe there are some decent Congressmen and women, as well as Senators who really still want to do the right thing. But they are vastly outnumbered and out powered by the career politicians and socialists masquerading as Americans who care more about their agenda, then they do our country. It is to the latter group who I think are just the figure-heads, who like marionettes, dance and put on a good show as if they are really accomplishing something.

But who is pulling their strings?

The Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve in reality, is a ‘cartel’ of bankers who are only interested in one thing… self-preservation. They aren’t in it for the American people, they are in it to make a profit. Surely they, of all people, understand that the more you make of something, the less its worth. But again, there is an ulterior motive at work here not openly discussed by them. But one need only apply some common sense to figure this riddle out.

So far, we’ve had three Quantitative Easing’s (QE) in recent years, in which trillions of dollars was printed out of thin air. Where did all that money go? To other banks of course.

We have what is known as a ‘fiat’ currency, meaning, it’s not backed by anything. It would be just like using Monopoly money, if Monopoly money were given artificial value to purchase things. It has value because we say it has value, and that is about it. Well, that is not entirely true. We made a deal with OPEC back in the 1970’s in which we promised not to produce any of our own oil, and only buy oil from them (OPEC)…IF they made all their future deals in US currency. So, for the last 40 years or so, if you wanted to buy oil from OPEC, you had to use US Dollars, which meant, you had to have US Dollars as a Reserve currency. But what happens when no one wants to use our currency anymore?

First, to recap:

If your country is in debt to the tune of 17 Trillion dollars, you should:

A) Raise taxes and keep spending like a drunken Sailor?

B) Keep taxes and spending where they are, but keep raising the debt ceiling?

C) Quit spending what you don’t have, lower taxes, live within your means, make the US business friendly which will bring jobs back, which lowers unemployment and boosts economy?

D) Keep printing money until the system crashes, then hit reset button and go to a new currency?

E) A, B, & D?

Which one do you think we are doing?

Here is another point to consider. Back in 2008, McCain and Palin wowed the crowds with ‘drill baby drill’ and that we were going to ‘quit sending our money to people who don’t like us very much’. But think that through for a moment. If the only thing keeping our currency afloat is the global demand for it is generated by OPEC mandates, and we quit buying oil from them, what do you think will happen to the US Dollar? Why do you think Obama shot down the Keystone Pipeline? Why do you think George W. never invested in building up our own oil production infrastructure…or Clinton, or George H.W., etc?

The truth is, we’ve been bent over a barrel more literally than figuratively for decades now and Washington D.C. is now realizing that the gig is up. We can shuffle things around and raise the debt ceiling, but really, we are just kicking the proverbial can down the road. Only problem is, were running out of road.

That is why the; IRS, DHS, NASA, DIA, CIA, FBI, NSA, EPA, FEMA and on and on are buying trillions of bullets, armored cars, FEMA camps, coffins, etc. like they are gearing up for Armageddon. They know that things are about to go south, quick.

They just don’t know exactly when.

It’s why Obama Care doesn’t really make anything better, because if you really wanted to fix things, you’d add more health care providers to the system, not rearrange your insurance. The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) is just one gigantic information collection scheme meant to get everyone’s info, which is why it’s enforced by the IRS. It’s designed to get everyone on the grid, so that there is nowhere to hide. It’s why all the ‘crony’s’ are exempt from it, because the government already have them in their pocket.

If you just look at all the current lunacy going on with the shut-down, debt-ceiling, Sequestration, Obamacare, etc., and then apply the knowledge that it’s because the people ‘in the know’ already know how this is going to end, you’d realize they’re stacking the deck in their favor for when it does happen. You can be sure they don’t want to be out of office when that time comes. This is their end-game when the collapse comes. Better to be the one who is still making the rules, then the one being ruled. Oh, and when that day comes, believe me, the Hegelian Dialectic process is going to play out full-bore.

The Federal Reserve bankers are the true puppet-masters pulling the political strings of both parties in Washington D.C. They have all the money, and they control the stock market, economy, debt, and basically everything the US has become dependent upon in the last 100 years. There is no intent to ever repay the trillions we owe in debt. They know, that even if you taxed every man, woman, and child at a rate of 100%, we still couldn’t pay our bills off.

The time will come when America will be faced with an almost impossible choice to consider. (This would be where you apply the Hegelian Dialectic). Our financial dilemma is the Thesis. The people’s reaction to the crisis is the Antithesis. They vote, they want ‘hope and change’, and that is exactly what they will get. So here are your choices (or Synthesis)

Option 1 will be that we embrace severe austerity measures (think PIIGS on steroids). Severe austerity measures would include cutting Social Security, Welfare, MEDICARE, Military retirements or Federal benefits of almost any kind. Taxes would be raised at least 50% from their current rates.

Option 2 would be; you keep your standard of living, but we go to a new digital, regional or global type currency that we no longer controlled. [See President Garfield’s quote]

Which do you think American’s today would choose? When that day comes, you can bet that American’s today will find the least painful option out of this pre-designed crisis.

There hasn’t been another period of time in mankind’s history, where there existed the technology to literally control all the buying and selling in the world, that is, not until today. Just like the US Dollar is the standard in which all other currencies are measured by, so too will this new one be, whatever form it ends up being. You can bet that this new currency will be designed in such a way, that the bankers will ultimately control the nations with it.

Will not vote for Bevin. He is not a Kentuckian, and he is not one of us.

Mitch McConnell

McConnell was born in Sheffield, Alabama in the hospital in Sheffield, which is now called the Helen Keller Hospital, and raised as a young child in nearby Athens.[5] Mitch McConnell was the son of Addison Mitchell McConnell, and his wife, Julia (née Shockley). As a youth he overcame polio.[6]His family moved to Georgia when he was eight.[7]

I hope Palin is gearing up for a run...

If so, pray for her and Todd. I'm tempted to excerpt part of her piece and send it to liberal friends just unidentified as to author. IF they only knew, if they could only let go of their leftism enough, to vote for a Republican, as caricatured as Palin. They agree with her essentially, but ... I mean, a liberal has his limits!

Poor Palin -- man, it's got to be hard to be Sarah Palin right now. Todd looks like a worried man. She needs protection. God bless them both.

Instead of raising taxes, how about include in those austerity measures of taking government intrusion out of running businesses. Right now, you can't even grow tomatoes in your garden and sell them at your front door. WHY NOT? Would the world end if people were free to do this because no government bureaucrat was there to nanny them with endless expense and headache to "license" said commerce? The world would propsper, that's what.

So yeah, America could handle those austerity measures easy if they were accompanied by severe austerity limiting government to essential services. Economies would thrive with only limited government in how they do business among themselves. Capitalism works pretty good in a moral society, like ours where slavery is outlawed and we basically clean up after ourselves environmentally, don't fester in our own polution. Americans dont' need government to force it -- government mucks it up. Let Americans live free, and they'll mostly live right.

Morality is destiny.

Sarah is saying everything I want to say, but more. And she is spot on.

I was listening to the Billy Cunningham radio program tonight and Cunningham says we should just let the train ride continue without doing anything to fix it. The nation will soon be on a train of horrors as the wheels begin to fall off. Republicans will then say, “We told you so!” Then the nation will blame Obama and the Democrats for all they have put this nation through because their selfish policy that put party politics over the nation’s welfare.

In my book, any political party that jeopardizes a nation’s welfare to secure political power has lost their validity as a political party. This goes for the Republicans who let principle go secondary to pursuits of personal gain.
