Council killjoys ban taxi driver from having St George's Cross on cab for 'discrimination' (UK)

A TAXI taxi driver has been banned from having a St George's Cross sticker in her cab - because it could discriminate against foreigners.

Patriotic Denise Said, 56, has three English flag signs stuck on the doors and boot of her vehicle.

But after one complaint from a rival cab firm she was stunned to receive a letter from the council accusing her of breaching equality laws.

Teignbridge Council in Devon said the stickers would leave anyone who is not English at a "disadvantage in their day to day life".

The local authority says it will refuse to renew Denise's license in February unless she ditches the stickers.

But the veteran driver of Newton Abbott, Devon, has vowed to keep flying the flag and says there's nothing offensive about them.

Furious Denise said: "I think it's pathetic. I believe the council is implying that I am racist but nothing could be further from the truth.

"I've had a few foreign people in my cab and I've asked them if they find it offensive and they don't in the slightest. In fact, one told me 'your country has gone mad'.

They have not seen discrimination until the Muslims finally take over Europe.

Hope the “council” members enjoy living under sharia law.

And here is the real interesting part, once they take over there will no longer be any complaints to the council, because anyone that complains will end up dead.

Wow, a British flag is found to be offensive...in Britain! I guess their liberals are as crazy unpatriotic as ours!

It’s not British, it’s English.

This part says it all about the UK.

“In fact, one told me ‘your country has gone mad’.”

Yeppers. Great Britain isn’t so great anymore as the lunatics running the asylum have as their goal to lead the West into the abyss of death and destruction.

Nuke the island from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure. Let Perfidious Albion be no more.

I’ve heard it’s even worse if you fly the Union Jack.

What’s the dif?

Go to Scotland, carry a Union Jack then a St George's Cross flag....see the difference in reception you'll get.

The British flag or Union Jack consists of a combination of the “horizontal” St. George’s Cross flag of England, and the “diagonal” crosses of the flags of Ireland and Scotland.

This person has the St. George cross only, but being inside an oval sticker it seems a little odd to call it a flag.

It may be more the “local driver” words on the sticker rather than the flag.

You have wonder what the local knowledge of the complaining competitor drivers is.

In general, it's nice to have a cab driver that you don't have to explain the route you need to take to your destination. The few cab rides I have taken in the UK usually have needed a route explanation given to the driver...:^)

This does need to be challenged in court on the grounds that both this is a national symbol and patriotism cannot be declared oppressive unless the court declares that England is no longer a nation; and that individuals offended by the symbols of Christianity are not offended by the symbols as much as that others have the freedom to be Christian, so that neither they, nor their intolerance of people of other faith, should have standing before the court.

What if I go into a Scottish pub and yell, “God save the Queen!”

What’ll happen?

LOL!

Poor lady. She doesn’t realize that in the new progressive paradise she is not allowed to show any pride in her heritage. Only if she were one of the select, protected races or religions. Then she would be encouraged to show her colors. But if you’re white and Christian, forget it. No pride allowed, only collective shame and guilt.

Rubbish! (Are the English allowed to say "rubbish" anymore?) I don't see how a sticker on a taxi cab creates a "disadvantage" for anyone.

Firstly, apologies for my less than pleasant earlier reply.

Secondly, yes, it is. The United Kingdom is essentially a state made up of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and NI. The Union Flag/Jack contains elements of all four.
The Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are usually considered part of England for this purpose.

‘Great Britain’ refers to the three mainland nations, which is why you will hear/read ‘Great Britain and Northern Ireland’. Although (wrongly) Great Britain is also used by British and non-British people to include NI. Again, Isle of Man and Channel Islands come under England for this title.

The British Isles is a physical description of the mainland, it doesn’t include NI.

The UK and GB ‘titles’/names are political, whereas British Isles is simply a physical one.
