I’m glad to hear that you’re so bullish re: AZ-09. A 5-point victory in that CD would be HUGE.

As for redistricting, AZ has one of those God-awful “independent commissions” that, as usual, does the dirty work for the Democrats. Brewer tried to dismantle the commission to stop the pro-Democrat gerrymander to go into place, but she was stopped by the courts. So I don’t think AZ Republicans can do anything until the 2020 Census. They should legislate to get rid of that commission prospectively, though.

It was a 2 point victory for Sinema last time, in a year that was a disaster for Republicans across the country.

Maybe 5 is a little bullish. 4 is more realistic. I just can’t see Sinema’s voters, screwed by healthcare, coming out to vote for the lezbo again. This is one race I’m calling ‘Likely Republican Pickup’
