Yes...the Barney was a Norfolk ship as well...but they made the trip anyway for some reason.
I did a Med cruise 87-88 and also did the Caribbean.
Was on the Elliot (Spruance class) out of San Diego at the end of my 6 yr enlistment and did West Pac/Persian Gulf.
More Gulf than West Pac.

Ospreys still have killed fewer people than the CH-46 had by this same stage in its development/service. The CH-46 is a Marine killer.
