This is a story of a mass shooting that might have been if not for the efforts of a concealed carrier. However, dont expect to see this story on the national news since there were no fatalities.
Several guests, in their 20′s and 30′s were attending a party at a Glendale, AZ home when one of the guests, identified only as a 27 year old male, got into an altercation with several people at the home.
The 27 year old was asked to leave, which he initially did. However, shortly thereafter, the 27 year old returned, this time armed with a rifle.
The suspected shooter fired rounds off outside the home and when he pointed the gun at other guests, a 39 year old guest drew a concealed handgun and fired on the suspect, who was hit by the gunfire.
The concealed carrier waited for police, explained what happened and was released after giving a statement to police.
We of course have no way to know how many lives were saved by the actions of the man carrying a handgun, however, based on the actions of the suspect prior to being shot I think we can safely conclude he did not return to the party with honorable intentions.

Liberals will say ‘Oh Noes, more gun related violence, a vigilante shot someone!’.
Alcohol and Powder don’t mix.
Can somebody explain what ‘... the suspect, who was hit by the gunfire’ mean?
Even this reporting is kind of sloppy. Or I simply don’t understand English as well as I think, [not ruling that possibility out.]
Wrong! A gun shot someone therefore more gun violence that needs to be stopped. People don’t kill people! Guns kill people!
If left alone in their natural habitat (gun safes) guns are very non aggressive. It is only when moved from this dark quiet environ that guns become aggressive.
Some detqils here. . .
It being Arizona, I bet that 27 year old had enough liquor in him to blow double digits on a breathalyzer. Seriously, nobody, and I mean nobody, who lives in Arizona any length of time is going to be threatening others with a gun, unless they are so insane that they don’t care that other people are shooting at them.
Heck, I think that even the police are trying to move away from brandishing unless they have to—it’s just too damned dangerous.
This being said, there is an amusing gun story from southern AZ today.

0.41 caliber? Really?
Sounds like maybe he had a Taurus Judge...
Okay, more details are good. 51st and Olive is very close to the ASU North Phoenix campus. Thunderbird Hospital is close by at 59th and Olive.
