Apparently, the NFL donates the breast cancer money to the American Cancer Society.

Very little of the money on merchandise goes to the American Cancer Society. The Merchandisers and NFL Teams keep the bulk of the money.

If I understood the article correctly, a little over 8% of the gross proceeds goes to breast cancer research (I’ve heard the norm is around 16% due mainly to marketing and administrative costs). But the article also notes the following:

*Still, there are unanswered questions about where the money is going and who is profiting.*

If a certain amount of money (however much they’re talking about) is being spent legitimately, why would the NFL not reveal the details? Curious to say the least.

Thank you for the link.
