Rasmussen poll gives McAuliffe a 17-point lead over Cuccinelli
The Washington Times ^ | 10/22/2013 | Matthew Cella

A poll released Tuesday suggests Democrat Terry McAuliffe has pulled away in the campaign for Virginia governor, opening a 17-point lead against Republican Attorney General Kenneth T. Cuccinelli II two weeks from Election Day.

The poll, conducted by Rasmussen Reports, has Mr. McAuliffe ahead 50-33 — by far the largest margin of any poll thus far in the race.

The survey of 1,000 likely voters has a 3 percentage point margin of error. It was conducted Sunday, a day after former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton campaigned with Mr. McAuliffe in Falls Church.

The results come after Rasmussen last month had Mr. McAuliffe with a 6 percentage point lead, 44 percent to 38 percent, over Mr. Cuccinelli. That poll was conducted before the two-week federal government shutdown, which other surveys have suggested had a disproportionately negative effect on Republicans.

Keep in mind that Rasmussen has veered far left since it ousted Rasmussen. Their numbers on barky’s approval are now consistently 10 points more blue than the average of all other polls. Move their number on mcawful 10 points to the right and you’ve got D+7, which is about the average of other polls I’ve seen.
This doesn’t change the fact, however, that Cucinelli is throwing the race by going RINO...

I had posted last week an article about Chesia advising her mother to rest and think it over. But that was last week.

This is what I’d like to know. The only thing I can think of is that Virginia is a Washington’s bedroom/ suburb kinda thing. With 0 in the WH, it’s primarily populated with the (D)irty & (C)orrupt. :shrugs:

Why in the hell did Cuccinelli hire David Rexrode as campaign manager (worked for McCain) and Matt Rhoades for opposition research (Drudge BFF who was Romney’s campaign manager)? They’re both proven failures who hate grassroots conservatives.

There is your answer right there.

Moderates cannot win. Maybe conservatives can’t. Not with characters like mccauliffe. However, moderates are done they will not win, I don’t care how many times Ann coulter and bill bennet and Andrea tantaros erroneously tell us Cruz went about things the wrong way, moderates cannot win.

The only moderates who can come close are the ones backed by the fixers (the ones who moved in after Reagan)

And even they are done.

It is a new game, sin e Cruz et al said game on

Moderates can not win One slip of the tongue revealing a moderate attitude is a knell like a troll in the holy grail answering the question wrong. Over the cliff

Fear is out

Not sure this state is worth saving. This guy will be grabbing guns, legalizing dope, screaming for gay marriage and signing the state into Obamacare in his first day. Then he will sit back and let the fur fly knowing there is nothing anyone can do to him.

Ladies, workers and LGBTers and wards of the state, here is your next Governor or Northern Virginia..

I wouldn't know, I don't live in Virginia, I live in the Socialist Hell-Hole called Illinois.

We don't have a Republican party here.

Much as I hate the thought, I believe McAuliffe will win.

People are down on McDonnell and vicariously that impacts Cucinelli. Democrats and their press buddies have done a year long smear campaign against them both. It has paid off.

Same tactics were used against Romney.

Put a lot of doubt in voters’ minds.

Why would conservatives support Cuccinelli if he attacks other Republicans during an election?

He obviously does not believe in Reagan’s 11th Commandment...so if it is no sin to him, then it is no sin to the Conservatives.

I know, there is a difference

On the one hand, one likes socialism, and on the other hand, the other likes socialism. One talks it down though, kinda.

I live for no man. I expect no man to live for me. Neither I, nor he, will be a slave to the other.

Where might I find a place on this Earth to live and honor this idea?

I know of none.

We all live for someone else, and we cannot live for ourselves.

They can have it.

“is Cucinnelli a Rino or teaparty and who do we blame for losing”

He’s tea party, although he raised hackles recently when he refused to be photographed with Ted Cruz during the shutdown debacle. But his policies are very conservative.

The problem is, he’s also a crook. He’s been tied to the same company that bribed Virginia’s republican governor, and then Cuccinelli refused to condemn or speak against that same governor well after the facts came out.

A halfway decent candidate could have made this a race. But instead, when faced with a scummy crook running on the democratic ticket, we nominated... a scummy crook of our own.

We can’t even blame this on primary voters - Virginia scrapped its primaries this year so the party could nominate conservative candidates without interference. Very disappointing.

This is the Clinton effect. Clintons put cash and appearances in to make sure this crook wins then they can brag about their influence and how popular Shrilliary is.
