“Wow, you’re sitting atop some very unusual geology!”

Yes, but the idea of earthquakes never entered my mind.
In my five years here, I experienced only one small tremor
from a quake over on Negros, a few years ago.
The huge number of quakes over the past week from the same location has taken everyone by surprise, not to mention, putting everyone on pins and needles.
My neighbor, from Cape Cod, and I are now feeling imaginary tremors throughout the past few days....maybe not imaginary, haha.

Lol, I've been following the increasing activity for a number of years now and had no idea of the "interesting" geology in that area either. ;)

Stay safe and alert. How far is it to higher ground? You might want to plan an evac route to higher ground including a meet up location and have a well stocked bug-out bag handy, just in case. Know the signs of a tsunami is the ocean receding from the beach.

I know they said you are protected by other islands from the open pacific, and I'm no expert and of limited knowledge, but with your unique geology, is seems possible of an plate shifting and causing a tsunami on either side of that island your on.

I don't mean to alarm. I've enjoyed our chats here and just wish to caution you to be on the safe side. :)
