Actually I agree that Obamacare will never be “repealed”; because the Republicans would have to have 2/3rds majorities in both houses to do so. However that does not mean that we are stuck with it.
Congress just stops funding it. It will have no offices, no employees, no enforcement, no reimbursements, and then congress passes new laws exempting everyone from belonging to it. If the IRS tries to enforce it, the IRS has its budget reduced.
Congress then deletes the government databases filled with health information about individuals, it repeals the vile HIPAA, and likely creates a lifetime waiver for any citizen who does not wish to contribute to or receive benefits from a federal healthcare plan, possibly social security and medicare, and other federal largess programs, strangling them for money.
Eventually they tear down LBJ’s Great Society, FDR’s New Deal, and take the country back to where it was before the Great Depression, with serious controls over banking, investment, insurance and liability.
Dream on they will want to use this information for the same reasons they used captured NAZI and Japanese doctors that practiced the most evil of medical experiments.
Mark is right on except he seems to be under the illusion that the GOPe was ever opposed to government control of health care.
