I have heard (see below) that Quarles was working with investigators because, though he was not himself the person at the Analyst Corp accused of the passport breach, he could identify said TAC employee.

According to Mr. [Jerome] Corsi, Harris had information related to the State Department employees who had breached Obama’s passport records and that he was cooperating with government officials.

But the article you link to only mentions that Sean McCormick, State Dept spokesman, states that the passport cases and the identity thefts are unrelated.

While they may be indeed unrelated, I am not inclined to take a State Department spokesman's word for anything.

As time progressed, so did the leaks. It was learned that at least one employee at the U.S. Department of State was a co-conspirator in the break-in.

According to published reports, that employee might have shared credit card information obtained during the breach with a man identified as Lieutenant Quarles Harris, Jr.

Based on the continued investigation of this author, it appears that Harris was the intended recipient of stolen credit card information from a State Department employee also involved in the breaches, but he received more than what he bargained for. When he realized the scope of the crime and the explosive nature of the information he possessed, he turned to investigators for protection. He also began to talk with investigators, and ultimately he made a deal with federal prosecutors.

Before he could make good on his deal, Lieutenant Quarles Harris, Jr. was found shot to death in his car on April 17, 2008, just over a month after the last breach. He was found in front of the Judah House Praise Baptist Church in the northeast section of Washington. He had been shot once in the head.

Especially when the IG investigation of the incident didn’t even claim to find out if the records were altered; according to the report, all they were interested in was seeing that this didn’t happen again. But Newsmax’s inside sources said that the breach was to sanitize Obama’s record, and the McCain and Hillary breaches were to provide a fig leaf. Who needed a fig leaf? The State Dept investigators. IOW, the State Dept and its IG knew that Obama’s file was altered and chose to NOT report on that, hiding instead behind the fig leaf that it was just innocent curiosity and we just need to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Which makes them accomplices to the crime.

Their credibility is toast.

Seems like maybe the government investigators were working on finding out the truth and had a cooperating witness at the point that Harris was killed, but decided to be accomplices to the crime instead by the time the report came out.... Wonder why they changed their minds....

Well, if it’s Corsi’s word against an investigator who actually has access to the details of the case, I am not siding with Corsi. He’s got no credibility left, so his word alone is worth nothing.
