The take-home message for the last five years has been no matter how destructive, inept, or lawless the administration, no one in a position to do so will lift a finger to stop it. All that stuff about “checks and balances” we learned about in school was a fairy tale.
Name me one scandal Darryl Issa has “gotten to the bottom of”. The answer of course is exactly zero.
The architecture of checks and balances is there. The jerks we have elected have abandoned using it.
