The Cleveland Indians are asking for their fans' opinion of Chief Wahoo.
But the organization wants your feedback on a heck of a lot else, too.
As part of the team's normal off-season survey of its fans, a question about the Tribe's at-times controversial logo generated some buzz on social media today, Oct. 23.
The survey asked Indians fans to rate the extent to which they agree or disagree with the following statements about the Chief Wahoo logo:
- This logo reflects the heritage of the Indians
- I feel a strong positive emotional connection to this logo
- This logo makes me proud of the Indians
- This logo represents more than the team it represents the city of Cleveland
- This logo is an important part of my support for the Indians
The choices for each were Strongly Disagree, Disagree, Neither Agree nor Disagree, Agree and Strongly Agree.
The five possible responses to the Chief Wahoo logo were a small part of the nearly 100 clicks that each fan is asked to make in the survey.
The Indians also asked the same questions about two more of their most prominent logos the Block C and the Indians script.
Fans also were asked for similar responses on four Indians jerseys white, navy, gray and the alternate cream-colored top.
In a statement to Crain's, the club said the Chief Wahoo topic was just one of many in their regular offseason research.
The Indians continuously survey our fans on all matters of the organization, the club said. In this instance, the feedback on logos and uniforms was a small part of an overarching fan satisfaction survey and represents a normal course of action in our effort to ultimately provide the best fan experience possible.
Game experience was a major part of the survey, as the fans were asked for their feelings on the importance of such topics as giveaway items, fireworks and dollar dogs.
Fans also were asked if they viewed the team as being in rebuilding or playoff-contending mode, and even had the opportunity to predict the Tribe's win total in 2014.

Wahoo scares, threatens, and makes me nervous. But 0bama on TV or radio makes me puke. I think he needs to resign to keep me from being so offended and sickened.

All those of us who are offended by Obama should start contacting Bob Costas for redress of our grievances.

“Wahoo” is the folk name for the wild burning bush, which will soon be turning bright red across the northeast.
Indians knew that the leaves, when turned into a tea, brought quick and violent relief to constipation.
Brew some tea, squat, and.......WAHOOOO!

I’m offended by Cleveland “BROWNS”. That’s racist! (SARCASM!!)

The 0bama image is especially offensive to all working and formerly working Americans of all races and religions. I work with a lot of people who voted for zer0 both times. Now they are saying, “I wish I had listened to you”. I tell them not to let it bother them since he got no electoral votes in Alabama, in 08 or 12.

Imagine that there was a competitive NEGRO league and one of the teams had chosen their team name as the N-word. The left would find that just fine!

The Cleveland Indians were so-named in honor of a star player named Louis Sockalexis...a Penobscot Indian from Maine.

I like him better than the Old Chief Wahoo.Personally, I think the new Chief Wahoo looks like he's just farted in the elevator and is sheepishly hoping nobody will call him on it.
Old Chief Wahoo, on the other hand, looks seriously deranged.

My brother has a bobblehead of the old Chief Wahoo from like 1946.
I seriously have to con him out of that. LOL

I’d like him better if he were also holding a handful of cigars and standing outside the front door of the pharmacy.
