They took my unpaid taxes out of my bank account when I was 18 years old. That was over 45 years ago.
I don’t know if it was legal, but I called my bank and they said the IRS swooped in and took my money because I owed them.
I hope it’s no longer legal.
Amazing! I know they can freeze it with a lien so you can’t get to it. I also know they can send a request to get it out and the bank has to send it to them
