Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg will be honored on Monday as the first recipient of a $1 million award that organizers are calling the Jewish Nobel Prize.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel will present the award, named the Genesis Prize, to Mr. Bloomberg at a ceremony in Jerusalem in May. The award, established by a charity founded by Russian Jewish billionaires, aims to honor exceptional people whose values and achievements will inspire the next generations of Jews.
The announcement of the inaugural award will be made at a news conference in New York on Monday. The charity, the Genesis Philanthropy Group, has financed an endowment of $100 million to pay for the prize for years to come.
While New Yorkers are more focused on the race to replace Mr. Bloomberg and have mixed feelings about his legacy, the award is a reminder of his role on the international stage, one that will continue after he leaves office. Since he is hardly in need of the $1 million prize, Mr. Bloomberg plans to donate the money to a philanthropic cause to be named next year....

I thought at first it was the Jewish Kapo Prize.
He’d fit right in.
Well, at least he’ll finally be able to afford a large soft drink or two...
WTF?????
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

Given the fact that this is the first ever award given by the organization, it's a bit arrogant to call it a Nobel. Not that Nobel hasn't awarded numerous political hacks, but longevity counts for something. Hope he donates it to a worthy cause, tenfold.
I hope he donates his body to science effective immediately.
Cut all foreign aid... Now.
The country of Israel is NOT giving him this award, it’s a private group.
See my #29.
“God help me to accept what I cant change (this award) and do the right thing when the Lefties hate Jews and Israel as they have done and will do in the future along with conservative Christians, right wing extremists, gun owners etc. etc. etc.”
I am not sure what you mean. There are all sorts of Jews who are aiding and abetting Obama. Many hold senior positions in his government. Can you say Jack Lew, Lois Lerner, the last two or three IRS Commissioners, etc. Save one, all the Jews I know love Obama.
Its hard to fathom such a person as Bloomberg getting an award for anything.
Its also easy to overgeneralize about any group of people like Jews, Mormons, Catholics and the list goes on.
I don’t know what the future holds for certain, but I think some tough times are coming, times that demand a willingness to stand with anyone who is prosecuted and persecuted.
A Southern Baptist seminary president recently told a Mormon audience at Brigham Young University that he didn’t believe they would go to heaven together, but he did believe that they would go to jail together.
Jews for Obama for today, but what about tomorrow?????
How about a No Bell Award, because its peace prize and literature prizes don’t go to any dingalings.
